This sounds like a hoax, but if it's for real, it would be just like attorneys to try this. I work for a law firm so I know something about this! [attempted hijack alert for the sake of lawyer bashing] Our firm was trying to get some volunteers together for Habitat for Humanity and one of the attorneys had the nerve to ask "how much does it pay?" What a NFBSK prick! [end of hijack]

gah, they could at least have spent 10 minutes making a decent logo.

Wouldn't the sattelite image be copyrighted at any rate?

I've heard of someone making a Katrina by throwing gummy bears in a Hurricane. [Roll Eyes] so this doesn't surprise me.

Well, I'll admit that I've been thinking about investing in land down there, so maybe the profiteering a-hole bug is slowly making its rounds.

I can't imagine where they're going to sell this product. It would have to be the Dumbest Store owner...ever to stock this stuff.

This tragedy will go into the books as un-touchable along with Shuttle disasters, 9-11, 7-7, and the Tsunami. Dark humor whispered amongst close friends and school kids not withstanding, there will be no viable commercial market for anything related to this other than honorariums like magnetic ribbons.

Dog--not so humble opinion--water

Why? so they float like dead bodies? I don't drink, so sorry if I'm ignorant about that stuff. Why not also add some brown food dye or prune juice and a few drops of oil on top?

Sure, why not? It's not like this is the first time that part of the country has been under "reconstruction". Don't forget to pack your carpet bag!

Seriously, in high school I was absent for a few days, missed a section on that in History class and got an essay on the 'carpet baggers' wrong on the test. I never did learn what that was all about [Smile] ...now I AM one. I should have paid attention in school [Smile]

Yeah, there are some titanic blow up water slides (much like pictured there) at local fairs around here. I was thinking that the second I saw your post....before I even clicked on the link. It's sad. Do you think in 50 or 60 years they will have a fair ride that consists of towers falling? *sigh.

That's a good point, and I wonder why that tragedy is 'different'? Maybe because it had so many 'rich' people? That it was not the 'common' man that was effected? I don't know.

Pearl Harbor (at least that I can see in the U.S.) is still a sacred cow (as it were), but the soccer team in Chicago is the Chicago Fire, so go figure.

I said the exact same thing to my wife when our CHURCH rented one of these for the family picnic.

Bleah.

No no no, doesn't anyone here know that jared has aids?? Twenty years after a tragedy, the situation is light enough to laugh about it.

Now, on a more serious note. I'd have to take a guess that the Katrina drink is a hoax. I'm not sure if the trademark registration would follow through, something that I'd be sure lawyers would know how to appropriately do.

Just registering "Katrina", without any specific font, appears to not be descriptive, or stand out enough to be registered. Also, if you not binding the name brand to any specific design, why register it, go with ™ instead.
