Ruth Matthews was supposedly ejected from her Isuzu Amigo as it rolled over in a crash. However her 600+ lb weight apparently prevented her from being airlifted to the hospital. Does this seem credible? Wouldn't it be difficult for 600+ lb woman to drive in the first place?

I don't want to sound rude but could a 600+ pound woman really fit through a sunroof?

Well, when it was upside down, she was probably on top of the sunroof from the inside, and when it made the next leg of the rotation, she probably stayed on the ground on top of the remains of the sunroof while the SUV kept rolling. (Hence the bowed edges seen in the video.)

While the weight would not prevent her from being air lifted, ambulance helicopter stretchers and the room reserved for them may make it difficult. The cramped space would also make it difficult for the medics to work on her. In other words, it may have been considered a safer alternative to get her by car instead of trying to squeeze here into a helicopter.

I was first at an accident scene about 10 years ago where an overweight woman, not near 600 pounds, was sent to the hospital via ambulance because they couldn't get her on the helicopter.
