There are several different beliefs about what happens to non-believers after the rapture. Keep in mind that probably most of Christianity doesn't even believe in the rapture. For those that do, there are some Christians who believe that no one can be saved after the rapture, some who believe that the only ones who can be saved are those who never had the opportunity before the rapture, and some who say that anyone can still be saved. Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, the authors of the Left Behind series, fall into this last category, so it seems to be the more common belief now. According to them and many other eschatologists, people will be so deceived by Satan, the Antichrist, and the false prophet that they won't recognize that the rapture was an act of God.
