There are crimes against beastiality in the west, too. Rotten.com's news links regularly feature people caught with an animal.

I'm not sure if they fall under generic animal cruelty, or if there is an individual statue against beastiality.

My personal favorite was a British guy who videotaped himself going at it with his dog, then used the same tape to record some "precious moments" with his finacee, which he played during their wedding reception.

But when the precious moments part of the tape ran out in front of the entire wedding party...
