Poetry and God, and send this to 10 friends--what's not to like?? [Big Grin]

Subject: Boxes from God
..
God's Boxes
Please Keep it going. This has been going since
Dec. 1, 2000
.......please send it on. God's Boxes

I have in my hands two boxes
Which God gave me to hold.
He said, "Put all your sorrows in the
black box
And all your joys in the gold."
I heeded His words, and in the two boxes
Both my joys and sorrows I stored.
But though the gold became heavier each day
The black was as light as before.

With curiosity, I opened the black,
I wanted to find out why,
And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole
Which my sorrows had fallen out by.

I showed the hole to God, and mused, < BR>"I wonder where my sorrows
could be."!
He smiled a gentle smile and said,
"My child, they're all here with me."

I asked God, why He gave me the boxes,
Why the gold and the black with the hole?
"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings
The black is for you to let go."

We should consider all of our friends a blessing.
Send this to a friend today just to let them know you
are thinking of them and that they are a joy in your life.

A ball is a circle, no beginning, no end.
It keeps us together like our Circle of Friends.
But the treasure inside for you to see
Is the treasure of friendship you've granted to me.

Today I pass the friendship ball to you.
Pass it on to someone who is a friend to you...
Ok, here goes, instantly when you recei ve his letter, you should
send it to at least 10 people to brighten their day, including
the person who sent it to you.

Actually, a ball is a sphere. But, God gave us boxes, not balls. So shouldn't it read:

A box is a rectangular prism, with a beginning, with an end.

Why/how did we go from boxes to balls? It was bad enough the way it was, but the sudden turn in the middle made it worse. Though I suppose the writer might have thought "God's Balls" wouldn't sound quite right... [lol] Don't worry, I'll do it: [fish]

"God gave me two balls, one gold, one black..." Nope, that doesn't sound right at all! [Razz]

OK....... This person has been opening the black and gold boxes all this time and not once looked in until he or she noticed the black box never got heavier? Did this person never move the box? I think I'd notice if I was putting things in a box with a hole on the bottom. As a matter of fact, I would have looked in both boxes before putting anything in them. But, that's just me.

But... I don't have two boxes. Then again, I have to agree. Evolution gave us balls; boxes, well, we pretty much made them ourselves.

Sigh...I suppose it's too much to ask, when something's been circulating for three years, that it be more than some inane 'Fingerprints' wannabe with an ending tacked on from another glurge, right?

Store and before don't rhyme.

Neither do hole and go.

That is all.

Dactingyl is meant to sound a bit like Christingle.

It's not very good but I couldn't think of anything else.

Sorry.

How do you pronounce them so they don't rhyme?

Or is your objection that be-fore has two syllables while store has only one?

And it's vitally important to revive a thread that's been dormant for several years so you can make this proclamation.
