I'm not 100% sure where to post this but it was kinda weird. I had just left my friends downtown whe n apparently a van pulled up and cows jumped out and started handing out bells with BovineUnite.com printed on them. I'm not sure what to make of the website. Apparently C-Day is on May 5th. I'm not sure if it's a clever campagin from Chick-Fil-A or what. But the whole thing is kinda funny.
ETA: Doh try it now.

i thought at first the site was by PETA because it looks PETA-esque, y'know, CRAZY. I can say that because I'm one of them animal folk
I'm dreading May 5th.
Eat more chikin was Chick-filet. Also, after some lenghty time on that board, the picture was linked by a board member, not something hosted by the site itself. No different than how RangerDog just posted.
I like how in the article linked by Snopes, the author is wondering what cows have to do with Chicken... uhhh ever see those giant Chick-filet billboards where a giant fiberglass cow is painting over the Beef part of the "Beef it's what's for dinner" sign with "Chicken"? It's their whole campaign!

I saw this a while back, and I'm assuming it's either Chick-Fil-A or -- less likely -- a movie trailer.
But this doesn't really qualify as "viral marketing," does it? I was under the impression that the term referred to creating a buzz by convincing people that the buzz is there already and they're just not in on it. This...is obviously an ad.

There is no standard definition for "viral marketing," but I'd say it can be either one of two things:
a) Ad campaigns that are not obviously ads (e.g., the subservient chicken).
b) Ads that are designed to be spread by someone other than the company they promote (e.g., deliberately create a controversial commercial that couldn't be shown on TV, then "accidentally" leak it to the Internet).

Mmmmmmmmm, hopefully if it is for Chick-filet. I love chicken, and I hope one will open where I live. I am scared it is going to be for PETA or some animal rights crap. Notice my quote to see how I feel about animal rights.

If it was PETA or another animal rights group, I'd think they wouldn't bother with the "eat mor chikin" bit, even in jest. Don't they usually oppose eating chicken, as well as beef (and any other animal)?

That sounds like a commercial I saw recently, where you hear two voices whispering to eachother about knocking something over, etc, and then two cows appear and tip over a grill... I'm not sure if it was a regular commercial or if it was in one of those Animal Planet animal commercials shows...
