Hi I heard a fight broke out on a plane involing WWE(wwf) wrestlers Mr Perfect and Brock Lesnar. Mr Perfect got fired for affair(or for being stupid for picking a fight with a man as massive as Lesnar). But I heard Triple H got himself envolved somehow but wasen't punised because he is with Stephanie MacMahon(are they really married in real life or what?).
Brock wasen't fired by the way.

And another thing about the name change. I donated $50 to the World Wildlife Fund a year back hoping it will go to help tigers or other endangered speices. What I did'nt want the money to go to was a pointless courtcase with the World Wrestling Federation other the use of the WWF abbrivation. How much did that case cost and how many animals would have saved with that money?
thats my 2 cents. [Furious]

According to 1Wrestling.com, that is correct. Triple H got involved trying to break it up, and all 3 crashed into the Emergency Exit door according to Hulk Hogan on a radio show. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are not married, yet, they are seeing each other.

The World Wildlife Fund had legitimate cause with the dispute over the WWF name. The WWF (Wildlife Fund) has been the WWF since 1961. At that time, the WWE was known as WWWF (World Wide Wrestling Federation). I'm surprised it wasn't cleared up sooner.

They co-existed just fine from 1979 until the late '90s, when website URLs had become a really big deal. Both parties had agreed that marketplace confusion was quite unlikely*, but then came the day you could type www.wwf.com and not know which one you'd get, or how to find whichever one you didn't...

* - edit: but Vince admitted it was possible, which pretty much sealed his trademark's fate later on.

Which is what I figured, but thanks for making it clear. It's one of those things like going to whitehouse.com (or whitehouse.org for that matter) and getting something other than you'd expect, when the real site is whtehouse.gov.

The WWF's official site is wwf.org. WWF.com still redirects to the WWE site for the time being.

My Dad knows anything and everything about the world of professional wrestling. He says that Vince McMahon and the World Wildlife Federation had a bit of a "deal" in which Vince McMahon could use WWF as his own as long as he did not do so in England or the rest of the UK. I am unclear on whether the agreement just expired or if McMahon somehow violated this agreement, but the court proceedings have actually been going on for a very long time. Vince has appealed and appealed and finally accepted that he lost. I think it is fair, he just stole "wwf" right out from under the World Wildlife Federation.

I used to be a huge wrestling fan, but when he stooped so low as to buy out his competitors, I decided I had a little more dignity than to watch that crap anymore. That and I'm tired of seeing women with muscles bigger than my boyfriend and boobs even bigger than that. Trash Tv, the spawn of a truly trashy man. Vince McMahon makes Jerry Springer look like a saint.

Sorry for the rant.

Yeah, I read the UK thing too, Vinnie lost a court battle last August that barred him from using the newer (not the old for some reason) logo and uses of the initials WWF in certain circumstances there.

Here's an article from October 2000, about the case Vinnie eventually lost, which mentions use on the internet:

My husband told me about this last night. "WWE" is awkward to say - to me at least. It doesn't roll off my tongue the way WWF did.

I wonder if he knows about that fight on the airplane. I'll have to tell him today.

The WWE* has regularly run events in England. Although there was a lapse (during the period when the WWF/E was near-dead and WCW was on top), they have run two or three a year since 1997. I attended one such event in 1998.

As such, I would like a cite.

*This should probably be in language, but what the hell. One thing that has always annoyed me at wresting forums is when people write "WWF" rather than "the WWF", e.g. "WWF hired the Dudley Boys". When you break down the acronym it makes little sense. Ironically, wrestlers in ECW and WCW would often be found referring to their company as "The [E/W]CW", rather than simply by the name.

But anyway. With the name change, what is the correct way to refer to Vince's company? The WWE or just WWE?

Jonny T.

Just a few more tidbits about the "flight from hell" with the wrestlers:

The flight was from the UK to the US. There were mutliple altercations/problems on this flight. As a result several wrestlers are likely to be punished/reprimanded for their actions. Some of the highlights:

Dustin "Golddust" Runnels apparently became very obnoxious and intoxicated during the flight. Although he apparently did not engage in any sort of physical shenanigans, he did make himself a real nuisance to everyone else on the flight. One report states he got on the airplane's microphone and began singing love songs to his ex-wife, Teri Runnels, who also works for the WWE. Her response was one of "embarassment".

Curt Hennig apparently was also being a real nuisance. He supposedly began spraying other folks with shaving cream. He then goaded Brock Lesnar into a fight (anyone who has SEEN Brock Lesnar should know this is not exactly the best idea in the world). During the scuffle they did indeed collide against the emergency exit. I would like to point out, though, that unless the plane was fairly low there was really no danger of the door opening. The door is held in place by the difference in air pressure, and it would take a LOT of damage to dislodge the door. Still, I bet it was a traumatic experience. Curt has been fired from the organization, Brock is still employed. Triple H was doing his best to stop the fight, so he is not expected to be punished.

Scott Hall has been fired from the WWE as well. Hall has had historical problems with alcoholism. Apparently his behavior on the tour was bad enough for the WWE to can him. He supposedly was not involved in the airplane incident specifically.

Agent Michael Hayes and wrestler Bradshaw also had some sort of altercation on the plane. From what I understand Michael thumped Bradshaw, which caused a healing scratch on Bradshaw's head to open up again. Bradshaw then apparently de-mulleted Hayes while Hayes was asleep (in other words, he cut Hayes' hair off). Bradshaw is well known for pulling pranks on others, so this might have just been one of those, "Well, it SEEMED funny at the time" things. At any rate, he'll probably get punished. Hayes may face the music too.

Contrary to most rumors, it appears Eddie Guerrero was NOT involved in any way with this "flight from hell" (apart from being on it). Eddie has a history of alcohol and painkiller abuse problems, but supposedly is back in control of his life. Early rumors "guessed" that Eddie was involved based upon his past. Pretty harsh.

I'm sure glad I wasn't on that flight. . . .

But the court case was pointless I know the difference between wrestling and animal rights.
What where World Wildlife Fund worried about people getting the two mixed up. People accidentley sending a donation to Steve Austin and The Rock. I mean come on.

I just bitter because I have donated money to the Wildlife fund and I hoped it went to animal relief and not legal fees.

Yes, apparently it's even sillier. He said that he was a better Greco-Roman wrestler than NCAA champion Lesnar. Kurt Angle did have a freindly with him in recently which Angle won, however.

Although I haven't seen it yet (highlights are tomorrow), he also apparently turned up to Raw too wasted to wrestle properly.
