Is it true that "There was a person that paid $14,000 for the bra Marilyn Monroe wore in Some Like It Hot."? If so, what year was it bought for $14,000?

I haven't been able to find anything concrete about this. The only pages that make this claim are those "fact" lists that usually contain false information.
I did some searches and scans lists from Christie's Auction of Marilyn Monroe's things. A lot of stuff went for a lot of money, but I couldn't find anything about this bra specifically.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was true, you know. The famous "Happy Birthday" dress was auctioned for $1,267,500. Her eternity band from Joe DiMaggio went for $772,500. A piece of notebook paper on which Marilyn had written "he does not love me" went for $12,650.

Only if it fits right.
