I've noticed a lot of "Dojinski" erotica -- boy/boy stories for women! Just as many guys seem to enjoy "hot all-girl action," so many women seem to enjoy "boy on boy" stories. Given most straight men's pronounced homophobia, I find it a wonderfully ironic form of social revenge.

Women used to go around worrying that men thought about what they looked like undressed.

Now...men can go around worrying that women are thinking about them being undressed...and kissing another man!

A lot of my female friends used to watch Queer as Folk for that exact reason. Some have even asked to raid my porn collection. My response is always [Eek!] .

I've always figured that way too many guys like girl on girl action for girls not to like guy on guy action. But whenever I ask people I get dirty looks. Or the ever-intelligent "That's so gay!" Except, for once, they're right.

Here's what I don't get--if it's okay for men to think of girl-on-girl, and deemed hot and erotic for men to imagine two women together, even if they're not lesbians, why should it be so "icky" for women to imagine two men together in the same way?

I'm with Silas. I find it satisfyingly ironic.

Not a surprise considering the amount of slash fiction on the web (Kirk/Spock, Riker/Picard, Mulder/Skinner, Potter/Malfoy etc). Most of it seems to be written by women.

I read quite a lot of Nexus and Black Lace books. In a reader survey I filled in the "what would you like to see more of" with "all-male action". Actually, I'd like to see more male/female action in those books too! They've got the girl/girl stuff covered to saturation point with sinful convents, women's prisons, nurses, girls' boarding schools ....

Lately I've given up most of the Nexus/Black Lace type stuff, at least until they rediscover hetero action.

I used to write erotica on a semi-professional basis (Ok, I got paid enough to starve more slowly) and I found that women wrote far and away the most erotic erotica with gay men only one step behind.

Most erotica written by men is of the "I inserted TAB A in SLOT B" variety and about as erotic as root canal work. I am assuming that you don't get off on root canal work.

In an interview I read, a female writer referred to erotica as looking for inventive ways to get "plug A in socket B". I had a couple of non-gay male friends who wrote good erotica.

I have a masochist contact who gets off on having root canal work (and other dental stuff) without anaesthetic.

I think the term you were looking for is yaoi, which is generally explicit. Doujinshi is self published manga. Then there's shoen-ai, which is more relationship oriented. But for the girl/girl you've got yuri and shojo-ai.

"Oh!" Daphne gasped. "Oh! Oh! No man has ever done that for me before!"

"I like doing it," Benjamin replied warmly. "Oh, Daphne, you move something in me that has never been moved. Do you like it when I do this?"

"Yes! Yes! Oh, around and around, faster!"

"I think it's clean now," Benjamin said, rinsing the plate and putting it in the drying rack. "After this I plan to...to mop your kitchen floor."

Daphne could not respond. Ecstasy had stolen her voice.

Ok, I guess I have to try my hand at it too.

One warm, sunny afternoon, a rather portly red-headed fellow was driving along the back roads of a small Mississippi county, enjoying the peaceful countryside, and the feeling of the power of the 360 horsepower engine under the hood of his black Corvette.

Suddenly, the engine went silent, and much to his shagrin, he was unable to get it restarted, and had to pull off the side of the road. Unfortunately, there was nothing in sight, except for a lone farmhouse way off in the distance. Realizing he had no choice, the man being his trek across the field towards the farmhouse.

An hour or so later, after a long walk, the man reached the farmhouse and knocked on the door. The sun was down, but it was still hot and humid, and the sweat was rolling off the man's back. He was hot and wet, and ready for bed.

After a few seconds, the farmer answered the door. After explaining his plight, the farmer said that the man was welcome to spend the night and he could give him a ride into town the next morning to find a mechanic, however, the only available place to sleep was with the farmer's young athletic son, who was standing behind the farmer, with a huge smile on his face.

The man replied, "Oh, excuse me, sir.. I'm in the wrong joke."

Sorry... I'll get it. [fish]

I watched Oz for the very same reason! Unfortunately, I only had Showtime for one steamy season of Queer as Folk. Luckily, there are plenty of fansites for the slash obsessed. [Wink] On television, I'm resorted to gay episodes of Mtv's "Next". Oh, to get the Logo channel...

Seriously though, femmes digging on guy/guy is hardly new. I've been reading it personally for about...uhhh...a decade, maybe. Digimon shonen-ai of all things [Roll Eyes] . Although, I suppose monster Anime is an acceptable outlet for a preteen yaoi fangirl.

Although here's a fun tidbit of information: Justin's high school, from the first season of Queer as Folk, was filmed in my high school.

No joke.

The classroom scenes were in my Grade 12 physics class.

I watched Brokeback Mountain in a room full of girls except for two gay guys (all fairly drunken). After the sex scene the silence in the room was broken by me saying "It would've been hotter if they made out first." All of them turned around, stared at me for a second, then started laughing. Later one of the guys said he agreed, but he didn't say it in front of anybody else, so I still just looked like the lone pervert in the room.

On that same note, I've long stated that it's somehow unfair that two females can dance together (at a nightclub, a wedding reception, etc.) without any stigma attached, but it's not acceptable for two males to dance together in the same circumstances.

Not that I'm wanting a male partner, of course - I really do enjoy watching two nubile women dancing [Wink]

I like watching lesbian porn, it's easier for me to imagine myself as one of the women.

Hetero porn doesn't do anything for me because none of the women look like they are enjoying it.

Guy on guy porn does nothing for me either, mostly because I can't imagine I'm one of the participants.

I'm quite happy reading boy/boy, boy/girl, hermaphrodites, human and consenting aliens, humans and consenting androids etc as long as it is well written and with a reason they are doing it (even if the storyline amounts to them doing it out of curiosity!). I don't enjoy girl/girl erotica, at least not as a main theme.

I got really bored of Yolanda Celbridge's books - half the time in her books you'd think men didn't exist! I think the only all-male action I found in mainstream erotica was in a Christine Shelley book and I'm not sure it counts because the guys were she-males (which was titillating in itself).

That reminds me of a wonderful story someone told when it came out, back during A-levels. They were watching a film on channel 5 (note for Americans and other aliens, channel 5 is a cruddy little channel that shows mild nudity late nights) when their mum came into the living room. They panicked and thought "Aha! Channel 4 will have something respectable on!", switched the channels, and their mum came in to see them staring in horror at the rimming scene. Poor lad, got absolutely no sympathy from anyone (all laughing too hard) and his mum kept asking if he was gay for years. [Smile]
