So, several other topics on the active page today have inspired me to seek enlightenment on a NFBSK topic of my own.
In the last month or two I've had a huge upswing in ...adult-themed dreams. My dreams (all of them) tend to be very vivid and quite often I have a difficult time returning to reality after one, especially if it's one that's technically possible.
Now, some of them I really don't mind. One involved Brenden Fraiser (who I find rather attractive) and some vampires. I woke up before that one got really good but since it seemed similar to the Anita Blake books which I enjoy. I just figured the books and The Mummy combined in my head and poof! sex dream.
The dream about one of my classmates - if DH didn't have some unreasonable objection - would certainly be possible and not inappropriate. My glasses got broken during the good part of that dream so I had no problem with it whatsoever. (that and he smells really good in class )
No, my problem is with the dreams about people that, even if I were single and they were single, would still be inappropriate. Like a coworker or professor at school. IRL, I'm not all that attracted to either one. They're both nice enough but not generally the sort that you'd expect in dream land, so what is going on in my brain?!
The reason it's a problem is this: You know that little ackwardness the next morning after the first time with a new person? Well, it's waaaay more ackward when they don't even know it happened! Now when I see them, I have that in my head and I just know they can see it in my brain.
So, I need some affirmation that I'm not crazy

Nope, not crazy. IMO I had one last night that was along the same lines. 'Possible' partners and 'no way in hell' partners showed up for the dream fest.
Made for an interesting morning. I still remember some bits. So if you are crazy...I am too!

I had a dream about my boss, who is nice, but NOT MY TYPE! It sort of freaked me out, but then I decided that it wasn't the worst dream i've had, and I got over it pretty quickly. //Slight hijack//My dreams are more violent than sexy: I rarely have a sex dream, and if I do, it is almost never graphic. But my violent dreams are very graphic. The other night I severed a random guy's Achilles' tendon with my Cutco knife because he was trying to rape me. Weird.//end hijack//

A few years ago I had a fairly sexual dream about my boss-my female boss. That was awkward when I next saw her!

I have the violent ones too. For some reason, they don't really bother me so much. Maybe it's because I've gotten used to them but the others are more recent additions.

I think I got you all beat. I had a dream about a close member of my family. I literally felt sick when I woke up.

Let me guess - your Mother? I wonder what Freud would have to say on the subject...
Also Arriah I've never felt awkward after a shag, before perhaps, and sometimes during, but never after

I dreamt that myself and my 2 flatmates formed a band called Johnny Panic and the Pink Flamingoes.
We then played our first gig at a pub near our flat. Now this pub, to put it mildly, is a bit of a dump, but in the dream it was really opulant.
After we'd finished playing we talked to the audience who for some reason was all people from my office.
The most disturbing bit was that at one point I was trying to seduce this new chap - who's recently started working here and this is his first job, he's only 19 - by giving him several chocolate bars.
I woke up feeling very, very wrong.

Not NFBSK, as such, but I realistically dreamed that our neighbour, [who had her [foster] kids uplifted a few months ago, and has been battling to get them back] came banging on our door to tell us the kids were coming back.
Now, my personal take is that the kids are better off outta there, but I am kind enough to know that, bad parent or not, she's gotta be hurting, so I'm nice to her - so in my dream, there's me going all diplmatic: "How exciting for you!" and "You must really feel that justice has been served" etc, while not actually lying about how horrified I was about the whole situation.
What was really weird was that it wasn't until mid-morning that I remembered that I'd dreamt it, and the corollary, that it was therefore only a dream.
I had been really fretting about it until then

I don't think he was "biting" so I had to keep giving him more chocolate. I woke up before anything untoward happened, luckily.
Mind you the whole dream was very sleazy indeed which was bad enough.

I have a lot of dreams and some of them are, umm, interesting. I too have dreamt about family membembers and woke up thinking "EWW!". Luckily they've never been about realitives closer than cousins but I also have the fear that someone will see inside my brain.
I've also had dreams about some of my college professors and my boss (at the job I worked while in college). I guess you can tell what was on my mind a lot back then. I'm the type of person that makes eye contact with everyone, sometimes to the point of people thinking I'm trying to stare them down but I would go well out of my way to avoid eye contact after such dreams. Although while I can't remember the dream well I do remember an awkward moment after one. I was in an astronomy class on St. Patricks day after a rather odd dream wearing a button that said "kiss me I'm Irish"... the professor in question made a passing comment "I wish I could"... I'm sure I turned many shades of red that day.
However the worst ever was probably a dream I had about a "performer". A friend of mine did juggling and balloon animals to turn a bit of coin and was interested in magic. I used to juggle with him and teach him magic. He was also studying clasical guitar at the School of the Arts (I didn't realize he was in some highschool program there). Anyway as was around 30 and he was around half of that. Neither of us realized the other's age (we were running on a lot of assuptions) and it got almost two close for comfort before it was sorted out. Hey he was well spoken and personable. The night after we finally realized our age difference and vowed never to speak of anything inappropriate we might have said or thought about one another ever again I had a rather intense dream... followed by a very long shower.

for some reason my nfbsk dreams never involve me. It's always two characters from a show/movie/book. Every great once in a while I'll find myself in their body, but it's always a guy's body, so I have all these extra bits flopping about that I don't know what to do with.

I've had a few NFBSK dreams. I too have had some about family members. Thank god I'm not alone in that. My favorite NFBSK dream was (probably TMI) 3-on-1 with 2 classmates and a lady in a green dress.

I've had that dream too. (Involving a member of my family, that is, not yours.)

Ugh ... one of my most vivid dreams of that sort involved one of my former students (a grad) that I hadn't seen in over a year. I woke up thinking "Just call me Mary Kay." Big ick factor.
THEN, about a month later I actually saw the kid in the mall and he came running right over saying "Hi Mrs. Lou!" I think I turned about 3 shades of red. (please don't read my mind please don't read my mind). I know what you mean about the embarassment factor!
