Looks a bit wrinkly, but I see no reason it should not be real. Why couldn't the soft and thin skin of an already wrinkly breed be even wrinklier due to the amniotic fluid as a newborn.
I bet it looked much better a couple of hours later.

I just looked at those pics and now I want one. They may look brainy and weird as newborns, but they look so cute bigger! Aww.

CFS: They are kind of cute in an interesting way, aren't they? Some people put little sweaters on the cats if they live in cold climes. Either silly, or double cuteness, YMMV.

I'd like to get a little bowler hat to put on one. And maybe a little scarf, too. I would die from the cuteness.

I just did a search for adopting one and keep getting no results. Too bad I don't want a Siamese, there are loads of those for adoption in my area.

Maybe not silly; I bet they get chilled pretty easily. (I do know, from asking a Sphynx owner/breeder, that they can sunburn!)
Personally, I like this Sphynx photo:

I went to a local cat show not too long ago. Most of the cats were fairly quiet and laid back, but when the sphynxes were judged you could hear the meowing all over the building! They were all watching the judge intently, poking their noses out of the cages and wanting to get out and play. Very chatty kitties.

I'm very disappointed by my inability to find one for adoption in my area . I suppose if I really want a bald, wrinkly cat I could just Nair a regular one and leave it in a tanning bed for awhile, but that seems like a lot of work. Not to mention the stubble.

Here's some in Ohio, Candy. These poor sphynx cats need homes because they - (shudder) - have fur! But if you explained to them all about the Nair and the tanning beds, they'd probably ship the whole bunch right out.

Thanks, Horse Chestnut! Ohio is still a bit of a way to go for a kitty, but it's better than California.

I take it it's a throwback to their Rex genetic stock? (Rexes have hair, but very thin-- it's basically the soft ground fur without the guard fur that regular cats have.)
A Devon Rex (pic's too big to inline). There's another Rex breed, with a somewhat different build, but the Devons are what the Sphynxs mutated from.
As you can see, Devons look a bit wrinkly too since their fur is thin enough to show the skin more.
ETA: In fact, "David Lo Pan" up there a few posts back looks to be a Sphynx who has a little too much fuzz on his muzzle to be a show-quality cat, but still makes a great evil pet.
