My dad got his new XM radio reciever delivered today; it's an XM2go/MyFi receiver made by Delphi. However, we've tried to hook it up to our home stereo and have run into a problem. It seems to be recieving the signal just fine, but there seems to be a problem when it comes to our stereo (an older RCA 2502 system) getting the signal.
We've tried all of the stations that they recommend (except for the ones with actual radio stations on them), and nothing going. I suspect something is getting messed up in the transfer from reciever to stereo system, but I have no clue where to begin looking to fix the problem.
Help would be appreciated. Dad is depressed since he's bored and can't do anything while recovering from a recent heart proceedure, and the fact that the reason he had to get XM in the first place was his favorite station (and the only oldies station in our area) went country. A bit of music might cheer him up.

I dont know about the home units, but we had to call both xm and delphi support when we got the car unit, they were both very helpful, might be worth a try to call them

Well according to this http://delphi.com/pdf/consumer/MyFiQuickGuide.pdf the connection seems fairly simple. Is your reciever set to whatever input you have the XM2Go plugged into? That would be the first thing I'd check (mostly because I do that fairly often.) Other than checking the connections you might want to poke around on Delphi's site to see if they have any ideas.

Thanks for the help. He finally contacted the support and we figured out the reciever unit was defective. He's shipping it back for a new one.

Dory... I didn't see this thread until today. I have an XM2go/MyFi and love, love, love it! If you have any other questions, just e-mail or PM me... I can provide some simple solutions. BTW... everyone likes the FM tuner idea for getting the signal from the unit to your home stereo, but I have found that a cable from the line-out to the stereo unit provides better sound. I reccomend a hard-line whenever possible (I even use the tape-deck adapter in my car as XM says it is a better signal than the FM tuner).
I especially like the ability to record 5 hours of programing... I record my favorite station and then use it while I'm working out since the whole sat-antenna on the portable radio gets a little cumbersome. I do use the sat-antenna on the portable when I'm walking outdoors, etc. but indoors while exercizing... not so good.

Thanks, Jake. I'll you keep in mind if (heaven forbid) we have any more problems. We still haven't received the new reciever yet. I hope it comes soon.
