Even as lawmakers across the nation debate legislation banning same-sex marriage, couples are uniting in weddings both miniature and massive, fueling a growing industry peddling everything from pink triangle invitations to same-sex cake toppers.

Bravo! It's money makes the world go round. Green, not pink, is the color that matters.

If wedding planning weren't too gay for me, I'd want in on the action faster than you can say "Ferengi Rules of Acquisition" or "great river of commerce!"

Actually, I recall that Homer Simpson made some quick bucks off of gay weddings.

It's like prohibition. Hopefully it'll turn out the same way too. (As in, the government realizes it made a mistake and legalizes it everywhere... not gangsters going around in same-sex-marriage speakeasys and stuff.)

There are some very good reasons for banning human-speedo weddings.

Yes, it's called "European Tourists".

I'll do it. [fish]

No it's not. This isn't something that was legal and then outlawed with the flick of a pen. Gay marriage never had protection under the law like that "other" marriage. Now, in some states, it is becomming legal. Hence, people are more likely to get married now than before. It's nothing like prohibition.

Good point, but I still look forward to people's stubbornness ushering in a change in the laws.
