Ever the vigilant gamer that I am, I just couldn't help but wonder what other gamer Snopesters are currently playing through at the moment. Naturally, I am starting.
Evil Genius - You know, if Tim Buckley of Ctrl-Alt-Del hadn't mentioned this in his newspost Wednesday, I probably wouldn't have seen this consume my soul for the second time. I wish I'd taken Alexis for my avatar again though. Shen Yu just can't rival her for personality.
Disgaea - I never did play far into this one, but I'm giving it a shot again, on and off building my little army, feeling ever so humiliated that Mid-Boss kicked my butt on his second fight (but his special ending was hysterical!).
City of Heroes - Yea, we're letting online games count. Because no way in hell am I ever going to stop playing this game. Well, maybe when City of Villains comes out. End Jerkhacking. Kill Skuls!

Pwettiest game ever, and it's a blast to play too. The only thing I'm not fond of is the pistol - about as effective as throwing marbles - but you can upgrade it

I got sucked back into WWE SmackDown VS Raw for the PS2. It's one nice looking game. I have some issues with the roster size and some theme music complaints, but it's a great wrestling game as far as the controls go. I'm addicted.

I also "play" Bridge Commander (though it's really more about various Quickbattle scenarios and trying out new mods). I'm telling you, taking an old Ambassador up against two K'Vort cruisers, then watching a Galaxy warp in to answer your distress call is a blast

A little of Warcraft III and Starcraft with a friend that lives down the street. We had forgotten how sweet a game Starcraft is, and that no, for all its qualities, Warcraft III is not better. Its flaws become apparent when you go back to Starcraft (which isn't perfect either, might I add).
On GameCube, I split my time between Mario Sunshine (Up to 96 shines, without looking anything up on Internet!) and Time Splitters 2. Good, but freakin' hard. I'm stuck at the second mission (Chicago) in Hard mode and haven't even unlocked every "challenge" and "league" options!
The Simpsons Hit and Run (though I have a prolem with the controler - I keep hitting the horn and it took me awhile to figure out I was the one honking)
And I hope I get the Playboy game this weekend for my birthday.

It's not bad, but a few things have been faintly irritating me. For instance, I've levelled up to 11 and I still don't have a frikin' lightsaber!

Sims 2 with the University expansion pack. I'll probably play a little Civilization III or possibly Prince of Persia: Warrior Within when SO gets home from work.

Same game for me. I expect to finish it this weekend, though. (I'm very close to the end.)
And, yeah, the amount of time it takes to get a lightsaber is ridiculous. From what I understand (although I'll have to test it on a second play-through), you can potentially get one quicker if you go to Nar Shadaa first (I went to Onderon instead).
But, you can get HK-47 in this game as well. With the possible exception of Minsc (Baldur's Gate), he may be the best NPC in a CRPG ever!

Wow... I did't realize the new Bard's Tale was out already! Is the PC version out, too? I haven't played a Bard's Tale game since I finished III back on my C64.
As for myself, I've been stuck in a racing theme lately. I picked up a copy of EA's NASCAR SimRacing. Fairly disappointing for someone who was hoping from the title it would be a SIMULATION. It's not a bad game (with quite a good career mode) but the driving physics and computer AI just aren't squared away, yet. Hopefully the barrage of patches shall help.
And, I've pretty much wrapped up my other recent racing obsession... FlatOut. Quite an underrated "Destruction Derby" type bash-up with the best graphics and destruction I've seen in racing.

I'm seriously backlogged due to being at work for hours at a stretch, but am slowly chipping my way through Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. I can tell it's probably going to be short, but I suck at FPS, so it'll take me longer than other (normal) people. Normally don't like most FPS, but this is Oddworld!! It's quite endearing in a grotesque, screwed-up sort of way .
Also playing Sims 2 with the Univ expansion, but that'll probably go on the backburner once I get the new Freedom Force fired up. Still playing Morrowind (ummm...surprise?) and fiddling with different mods and ends. Crusader Kings gets some play with the 7 Kingdoms mod; thinking maybe it was not such a good idea to go with House Frey (and not just because they're at the third and lowest rank; those who read Song of Ice and Fire will probably figure out why Lord Frey in particular can be confusing to play dynasty-wise). Also building evil lairs on my Island of Undisclosed Location in Evil Genius, but am perplexed as to why there are so many tourists if it's undisclosed.
Will be playtesting the new GalCiv2 beta when it comes out next week; however, it will be so early beta that it's as close to alpha as makes no odds. The main goal at Stardock right now is to see if it blows up any PCs during the install . Fun factor comes later once the big bugs are fumigated.

I am currently replaying Metroid Prime 2 for a second time, aiming for a perfect file. I'm at 86% and got all the Power Bomb, Ammo, and Energy Tank expansions, now I gotta get all those missle expansions.

The Sims 2. In fact, I'm about to play it right now. (I'm waiting for the Sim version of me to die of old age.)
Other than that, nothing. As a general rule, I suck at any game that requires any amount of skill.

I don't mean to be one of those game-snobs like we were b*tching about not-so-long ago, but, as a rule, I don't know of that many games nowadays that do really require that much skill. That might just be me talking out my ass because I've developed my hand-eye coordination so much over the years, but the only games I can think of besides puzzle games that require an incredible amount of skill are shooters, and even many of those are less skill-oriented and more story-oriented. That's exactly how I like it, though.

I've been splitting my time between World of Warcraft and Half-Life 2 (which I'm taking nice and slow compared to the first one), though HL2 isn't getting as much attention. It's pretty but in the end it's still just a shooter, albeit a very fine-tuned one, and they all wind up being fairly similar.

Trowa- There is also Uru, but it kinda sucked. You had a character you could create, and you ran around, but it wasn't like the other Myst at all.
Revelation is wonderful! I love that game. The best part is that you have a little camera with you so you can take pictures- no more notebooks filled with Myst notes. When you take the pictures you can go into your journal and put captions. You find out what happened to Achenar and Sirius. You also can snap a picture of D'ni a translation of the D'ni alphabet and english. D'ni is phoenetic, so you can learn to write your name in D'ni.

Am now alternating between FF and Oddworld. Am thinking of getting back into Rome: Total War with the latest Total Realism mod.
For those playing Civ3, are you aware of the Double Your Pleasure mod? I also like the Warhammer Fantasy mod very much. There's also the Master of Myrror mod that I'm interested in but haven't had a chance to fool around with yet.
