First movie: "101 Dalmations", the year it came out (1962?) First TV show: "Captain Kangaroo", although Dancing Bear gave me the creeps. First non-children's book: "A Tale of Two Cities", thrust upon me by my third-grade teacher, who decided that the kids' books were not up to my reading level. I have hated Dickens ever since. First LP:"Meet the Beatles"
-------------------- "Chuck E. Cheese called. They want their band back."
First book that I wasn't forced to read: The Spell of the Sorcerer's Skull by John Bellairs
First TV series: I honestly can't remember, but I'm sure it was a Saturday morning cartoon. Maybe "Gummi Bears"

I also learned to read at a very early age. I read my first chapter book when I was six: Ducktails by Janette Oke (Not to be confused with DuckTales). The first TV show I watched was probably Mr Dressup, Fred Penner, or Sesame Park. I don't remember the first movie I watched. We got our first VCR in 1992 when I was seven. The first movie I remember seeing in theatre was a rerelease of Disney's Snow White, although I've been told my aunt took me to see Disney's The Little Mermaid when I was 3.

The first movie I ever saw was Snow White. I remember my aunt took me for my third birthday and the whole experience was magical. She was afraid the witch would scare me, but it didn't (probably because she warned me about it).
The first chapter book I read was The New Boxcar Kids. I remember asking my mom if I could pick any section to start in or if I had to start at the beginning. One chapter's title really had me intrigued and I couldn't wait to get there!
ETA: The first R-Rated movie I saw was Trainspotting. My mom had to approve us buying the tickets at the theater but she didn't watch it with my friend and I. I now think if she had any idea what the movie was she would have said no; although it did quite turn me off from ever wanting to try drugs ever.
