I admit they are funny, and some of the posters are not that bright. (understatement) You could do the same thing for any large group; atheists, teachers, dentists, feminists, mechanics, democrats, republicans, hockey fans, etc. Get any large grouping of people and you will find some brilliant folks, some complete idiots, and a lot of people who fall somewhere in between.
So, while it is funny, I hope you don't think it proves any sort of point.

WTF? When did providing evidence for claims become a "liberal "argument""? You know I've heard of pCms. I've even met a few, but the level of pure idiocy, lunacy, and breaking from reality is...staggering. I don't know whether to laugh or dig myself a bomb shelter.

Sure, but if the basic ideas behind any of these groups is stupid then you get dumber comments and more of them. So feel free to share pages making fun of those groups.

Ganzfeld, are you saying the basic idea behind Christianity is "stupid"?
You are entirely welcome to your opinion, but that's not the most diplomatic thing I've ever seen you post.

Far be it from to speak for Ganzfeld, but I think he is saying the basic premise behind pCm as opposed to Christianity as a whole is stupid. That is to say the basic premise behind pCm is a narrow minded biggoted view of Christianity as opposed to the idea of Christianity as a whole
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm Christian, and I have absolutley NO problem labeling the people making those remarks (insert your prefered moniker for them here) as total morons who make me cringe to be a member of the same SPECIES even.
eta - I almost feel like identifing myself as "a Christian but not the ignorant mean kind" but of course that would be awkward.

I don't think there was anything about your comment or hers to warrant being included. If this guy considers you to be on the same plane as some of the others quoted on the site I have little regard for his judgement or sense of perspective.

IIRC, I had emailed him (the original owner) about something of mine that he had posted, and why I disagreed with it being included.
He offered to remove it, and I never followed up. At that time, he had no time or energy to maintain the site, and I never looked at it again until now.
Seems kinda mean-spirited, mostly.

Aren't Christians supposed to be tolerant, loving, non-judgmental and forgiving? Just curious. Thanks.

Hmm, maybe I was reading you wrong. I thought it went something like this:
Doug: Ok, these particular Christians are pretty ignorant, but if you take any group, like teachers or dentists, you can find ignorant people among them.
Ganzfeld: Yeah, but if the idea behind the group is stupid in the first place (ie, the idea behind Christianity versus the idea behind dentistry), you are going to get even more feeble minded remarks.
If I misunderstood, could you tell me what you really meant? Maybe what TwoGuys said ("the basic premise behind pCm is a narrow minded biggoted view of Christianity"), which, BTW, I thoroughly agree with?

I think you've read quite a bit of extra nonsense into my post. (Doug's, too. He didn't mention Christians.) Please read it again.
Doug said that you could do the same thing about those other groups. He made a remark about many groups (two or three of which I don't mind being considered a member), claiming that one could easily lambaste them just as badly by selecting their dumb comments. I simply said that if any of those groups are stupid then it should be easy to find stupid remarks. I added that he was free to do so.
If I had wanted to make some remark about Christianity then I would have. I have no comment about the stupidity of so-called “pCms” (I didn't even know what it stood for until a few days ago) or, especially, Christians (a group which is so large and diverse that one could indeed take any sect or strange idea and attribute it to all people in the group, which wouldn't be fair). In addition, even if I had wanted to make some comment about the people on that particular page being stupid, how could it have been about “Christians” since the page specifies that it is making fun of “Fundies”?

Which you think would be a endorsement for gender reassignment surgery. And yet, you just know that this person is adamantly against transsexualism because it's just as deviant as homosexuality.

Wait...I thought atheists were simply prone to huge orgies, having sex with everyone they see, because without God one cannot possibly have morals.

Ganz, after reading this and your comments on "Those pCm Threads" I see that I read both your post and you as a person incorrectly. I'm sorry about that. I think the thread I mentioned (as a whole) explains why I over reacted. Thanks for clarifying.

I had this problem in the pagan communities too! (I consider myself a pagan atheist, its hard to describe really). They were supposed to be having all these great sex parties and I never get invited. Damnit.
