It depends on what comes up in the random iTunes playlist, but 'The Dreaded P.D.Q. Bach Collection' seems to be coming up more frequently than most of the others*. Right at the moment, its the 'Unbegun Symphony."

In college and MP3 player gone to shit so not listening to anything, but the last thing I listened to was Blondie "Dreaming". I have a minor obsession with particular Blondie songs at the moment. Besides that, Mr Unbroken just got the new Mogwai album, so when I'm not bullying him into listening to Blondie, that's what's on. I also bought the first Tragedy CD and "Will Attack If Provoked" by Out Cold the other day, but I haven't got around to listening to them yet. I had the Tragedy one on tape for yonks though and I can safely say it's amazing
ETA: and the next CD I buy is almost definitely going to be Verdi's "La Forza Del Destino" because I saw it in the Met in NY the other week and I don't usually like opera but it was ridiculously amazing.

Subcon, may either be the artist or the song. I had a friend burn me a bunch of trance back in highschool that I just found again after I thought I'd lost it.

You know Senior, the fact that you like Stan Rogers still blows me away.
You listen to any other music from the Maritimes or Newfoundland?

I had the pleasure of listening to Stan Rogers in concert about six months before he died. The combination of the songwriting and that marvelous baritone voice made me a fan instantly. Not anyone would think of starting a song with "There's acrimony down in the card room," which is how "Sailor's Rest" begins. BTW, Robby O'Connell, who's a good songwriter himself, thinks "Sailor's Rest" is Stan's best song.

I have some of Pamela Morgan's CDs: Ancestral Songs, Seven Years and Figgy Duff. I also have Emile Benoit's Vive la Rose and Anita Best's Crosshanded.

ETA: Stand up, all victims of oppression, For the tyrants fear your might! Don't cling so hard to your possessions, For you have nothing if you have no rights! Let racist ignorance be ended, For respect makes the empires fall! Freedom is merely privilege extended, Unless enjoyed by one and all. So come brothers and sisters, For the struggle carries on. The Internationale, Unites the world in song. So comrades, come rally, For this is the time and place! The international ideal, Unites the human race.
Let no one build walls to divide us, Walls of hatred nor walls of stone. Come greet the dawn and stand beside us, We'll live together or we'll die alone. In our world poisoned by exploitation, Those who have taken, now they must give! And end the vanity of nations, We've but one Earth on which to live. So come brothers and sisters, For the struggle carries on. The Internationale, Unites the world in song. So comrades, come rally, For this is the time and place! The international ideal, Unites the human race.
And so begins the final drama, In the streets and in the fields. We stand unbowed before their armour, We defy their guns and shields! When we fight, provoked by their aggression, Let us be inspired by life and love. For though they offer us concessions, Change will not come from above! So come brothers and sisters, For the struggle carries on. The Internationale, Unites the world in song. So comrades, come rally, For this is the time and place! The international ideal, Unites the human race.
