I'm not sure if this should go here or in SLC... please move if necessary.
I'm TAD to Dam Neck for ten weeks, and hence am here in lovely Virginia Beach. If any snopesters in the area would like to get together for lunch on a weekend, please PM let me know... If any get-together's are planned, I'd love to come, but honestly I've been to busy to keep up, so if that's the case, please clue me in. Otherwise, I would love to meet (or re-meet, in a few cases) anyone who's available. This in one of my rare "periods of availability" when I'm actually within the same local area as other snopesters, so I want to make the best of it...

I'm actually going to be in VA Beach on March 11 -that's a Saturday, but hopefully, you'll be available.
I'm coming down with two non-snopesters (although they know about snopes from me.) We're coming specifically to see Mark Lundholm, who will be at the Funnybone that night. We're going to the 10:30 pm show. Might be a bit late for you, but hopefully not. Do you like stand-up comedy?
I can't post a link from here, since I can't access his site from work. (Not NFBSK or anything, just weird security issues.) But if you google "Mark Lundholm", his site should be the first one up. There are links there for snippets from some of his shows.
This guy is just insanely hilarious. The fact that we're willing to drive 4 hours to see him should tell you something. We'll be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn.
Anyway, if you're around and available, let me know. Would love to meet you in person.
And if not this trip, I'll be back for the Pirate cruise some time in May or so.

Same here. (Also didn't see thread at the time.) I'm a relativly new poster but long time lurker, love the show. Sorry, got lost for a second. But I'm aviable most anytime and game for anything.
Definatly will be checking out the comic too.

Oh yeah, do! I went to see him (for the first time) a couple years back. A dear friend of mine, who had seen him before and convinced me to go, was sitting next to me. She ended up moving her seat because I was laughing so hard! He's had a Showtime special, and his own one man show in NYC.

Sorry for the lateness of this reply... tentatively, doing the stand-up comic things on 11 March sounds perfect for me. Plus, I've never seen a live stand-up before, so it's definitely something I'd dig. Barring any professional comittments (and I will double-check on this), count me in!
AliBaba, do you happen to know if we can pay at the door, or do we need to buy some kind ot ticket in advance?
Additionally, if anyone ever just wants to grab lunch on a given weekend, I'm game... and priase be to Allah, I have my car here this time!

I KNEW there was a reason I was mentally dragging my feet.
I just got an e-mail from my former Gunny reminding me that he and I are on for golf this weekend... I agreed to it last month, and I guess I forgot it was this weekend. I made a promise, so I'm going to keep it (he's PCSing to Okinawa next month)... so I apologize, but I'm going to have to wave off on the Funnybone this weekend. Apologies for spooling y'all up, and thanks for the kind offer-- I'll still be around through late April...

Updated: I will be in VA for spring break...probably leaving Thursday April 13 (my son is having his bday party on the 15th and I'm the family chauffer)...
