How to sell brash young warriors, primed for bullets and bombs, on the mundane merits of seat belts and safety goggles and look-before-you-leap?
The Navy's safety team has a battle plan: Skip the platitudes in favor of telling sailors' and pilots' true stories about bang-ups and blunders, from the comic to the tragic.
Back when I was in the Navy (early 90s...*all* of the early 90s), we had weekly safety bulletin messages that we read at quarters (or at least selected ones). Whomever was writing them was a literary genius; they were entertaining as well as educational. And, I still remember that each week, there was another accident with Fix-A-Flat...Good times...
But the pictures work better, I would think.
