Any truth in the story I have heard many times that there is a higher percentage of left-handed people in the banking industry than there is in the general population. I have noticed a lot of them, but perhaps that is confirmation bias.

I've never personally heard that, although my first attempt at googling this subject came up with more homosexuals who were lefties than righties.

What I have heard in the past is that left handers tend to be more artistically inclined, thinking with the non-math half of the brain--which would explain why I totally suck at accounting.

I've never heard about more left handed bankers, but I have heard of more left handed math teachers. I noticed that most of my math teachers were lefties, but I wonder if I noticed it because I'm also left handed?

I'm so confused!

I've not heard of left handed bankers, but have heard of something else that rhymes. Perhaps it has to do with keeping the mouse hand free?

I'm right handed but left footed. What does that mean? [Confused]

I am left handed and used to be a maths teacher! (Actually I was a primary school teacher, but specialised in maths.) I too have heard about left handed people being artistic and I have seen a lot of actors and musicians who are left handed.

Being good at maths and being artistic seems to be a contradiction. Mathematicians are not meant to be creative (unless they are working on government statistics!), but there again I have heard that there is a link between maths and music.

Spikey is not the only one who is confused.

Probably just a matter of someone who is left handed noticing more left handed people, like simply said. My oldest is left handed and is very musically inclined. She is also great at math. She alone shoots down either theory.

Being left-handed causes you to notice other left-handed people, just as driving a dark blue Civic causes you to notice dark blue Civics.
Being left-handed, I always notice left-handed students in my class. Generally, if a student notices that I'm left-handed, they're left-handed as well.
From what I understand, the delineation between which half of the brain governs specific activities is not as cut and dried as once believed.
