However, I will say this looks incredibly fake. The actual content of the article seems dodgy(I know Klansmen are horrible people and several episodes short of an OVA, but those quotes don't seem credible) and the picture looks like a shoddy Photoshop. What says ye, Snopesters?

Extremely fake. Look at the skin around his eyes, it's grey. The rest of the photo is in black and white. There is obvious pixellation around the tip of the hood. I could go on, but I won't.
One last little thing, though... if this really happened, why not just bleach out the robe?

I'm with Sister Pink. That's a black & white original photo.

For some reason, bleach doesn't always get the color out of clothes when this happens. I've bleached my daughter's shirt four times and it's still pink - not as pink as that guy's Klan robes, but still pink.

Did anyone else bother to look at any of the other "news" stories on this web site?

For some reason, when I read the thtread title, I missed the wash part, and thought it was going to be about some weird pregnancy test.

I found the (not so subtle?) clues in the article, such as what kita and Sans Heart posted, to be quite humourous.
"But because his robe and hood were both an unfortunate shade of flamingo pink, Arnie was immediately asked to go home for suspicion of being a flaming homosexual. "
They did a good job of wording that part.

That's too funny. Quite amusing articles here. It's a crying shame someone doesn't know how to use Photoshop. Good god. That was literally a thirty second job that most people could have slapped together with my eyes closed. It would have made the visuals a little more enjoyable.
Or maybe I'm just a nitpicky loser because I spend all my free time in Photoshop.

Oops.
Anyway, I saw something similar to this on that Chapelle guy's show. I can't stand him, but when I was flipping channels and saw the KKK member in the pink uniform, I had to stop and watch. I missed the beginning, unfortunately, but the KKK member was shyly going up to the black people's houses and saying that he and his fellow neighbors would kindly appreciate it if they'd please leave the neighborhood. Just a sighting. Or not.
ETA: I need to stop using so many emoticons. Removed some...sorry!

OH that Chapelle show episode/skit was gays in America. The Klansman you are talking about was a member of the gay branch of the Klan. It was pretty funny. Could have inspired the article.

Thank you, ticrazyguy, for clearing that up! I'm glad someone saw it. My first thought was "I saw something about a pink KKK robe on Snopes!" when I saw it. Guess I need a life. I appreciate the clarification.

No, the gay kkk chapelle skit didn't inspire the article, only because I've never seen it.
I did, however, see a kkk skit on chapelle involving a blind black man. Very very clever. But I saw it after I wrote the above satire.
If anything inspired the above satire, it would be the persistent worry that Superman's cape would turn pink in the wash, which is silly, I realize, because the cape is red already.
But that's how my mind works. I changed my ideas to the KKK, who are always easy to spoof. Throw in some irony and away we go.
Wrote a short story in college about a guy who wore white pants all the time until they turned pink in the wash at the local laundromat, then decided to 'burn his britches' to get revenge, by setting the laundromat on fire.
