Comment: Is it true that the New York Giants famous place kicker "Pat" Summerall is really named Floyd, and that his name Pat has the meaning "Point After Touchdown"?

Yes but what about that running back for the Redskins, Joe Washington? Remember him, always in some other Washington running back's shadow but still, there was a running back for the Redskins, Joe Washington. Then there was that field goal kicker for the Philadelphia Eagles, Jeff Feagles, glad he didn't play for the Buccaneers...

Ken Houston played for the Houston Oilers...
(not sure where we're going with this, but it's kinda fun)

But back to the off-topic discussion, Ahman Green plays for Green Bay, and I think there are a few with the surname Brown who play for the Browns.

Jim Brown, Orlando Brown and Courtney Brown come to mind. I think Brown is one of if not the most common surname in the NFL, a few years ago when the Browns expansion team was getting started, one football magazine put together an entire theoretical team made entirely of "Browns".

You do that very well. Have you ever considered taking up broadcasting?

According to ESPN, there are 21 players in the NFL with the surname Brown, none of which play for the Browns.

Nothing to do with the team, just a completely useless piece of trivia, but I can remember a season a few years back when the Vikings were stockpiled with Randalls: Randy Moss; Randall Cunningham; John Randal; Randal McDaniel

This is a little different, but Shawn Bradley is 7'6" tall, and wore number 76...while playing for, you guessed it, the 76ers.

Johnny Neves of the Northern League Fargo-Moorhead Twins wore uniform number “7” backwards on the back of his 1951 jersey. After all, his name spelled backwards is “seveN.”
Bill Voiselle, who was born in Ninety Six, South Carolina, wore his home town on the back of his jersey, “96,” while with the Braves and Cubs from 1947 through 1950.
Carlos May, born May 17, 1948, is the only big leaguer to wear his birthday on his back: “May 17.”

Pat Summerall's full name is George Allen Summerall, and he played in the 50s and early 60s, not the 70s.
