My mom sent me the folowing email, figured you all could have a good time with it. I put my immediate response underneath. As always, my spelling is unapoligitcally terrible.
I assume that you have learned about the plot uncovered in Europe yesterday regarding terrorists placing liquid explosives on aircraft from England to the U.S.
So far, twenty Muslims have been arrested in England who they say are members of the plotters.
The question I have is, should we profile Muslims or continue the stupidity that political correctness imposes.
Should we profile Muslims?

Do you see a pattern here to justify profiling?
To ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners should notprofile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winning and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone because profiling is not politically correct.

Most of this is just off of the top of my head, so I can't address every single question 1> sirhan Sirhan, the guy who shot RFK was palastinian born american citizen. He killed RFK becuase of RFK's pro-isreal leanings. This too many is an indication of Muslim extremism, however the palstinian'israely conflict is a POLITICAL conflict based on land and continued israely encrochment on arab land. It might also be pertinent to point out that when the nation of israel was created in 1947 many arabs who were already living on the land and were forced off (unable to defend themselves becuase, under british rule they had all their weapons taken away) Lastly I have read on a couple pages the sirhan was a life long roman catholic/christian.

This kind of aver simplification is, well, just sad. It's sole purpose is to spread fear and desention. What about "johnny taliban" the american kid cuaght in afganistan? what about timothy mcvay, the una-bomber, or that guy who had a bomb in his shoe? Further more, do we as american's truely want to stand behind statements such as these, implying that one group of people deserve less right's than another? I honostly don't give a crap about offending anyone, it's the constitution that we are supposedly fighting to protect that I care about. That constitution states that all people are equal, regardless of race color and creed. Ben Franklin said "Those who would give up essential liberties to ensure safety deserve neither". This statement must extend not only to our own rights and libirties, but to everyone else's. Without these rights, we become no better than the terrorist's themselves. It really doesn't seem fair to include attacks that took place in countries where most of the population is Muslim. After all, most violent crime in the US is perpetrated by Americans. That's at least a third of the list. Anyway, if you're in an airport in the middle east, "profiling" middle-eastern-looking men is pointless.

I was reading some were years ago that some of the best security agancies to profile. They use a list of things they are looking for in a person and how thay act. The list maybe only 10 or 12 things and they maybe race, age, and sex. Those items alone will not make a person suspicious, but with other things on the list they my become a suspect. This list is also tailored to what you are looking for. If you are looking for a serial killer the list would not contain "Muslim male between the ages of 17 and 40". The list would have "white male between the ages of 17 and 40", but that does not mean it has to be a white person or even a male. So the person checking has a list to profile with, but no one or two items will make a person suspect, but several will.
So if you are looking at serial kill. A person being a white male, age 22 and owning the type of blue car seen at the crime would not be enought to make then a supsect. Add that the frequent the bar were the victim was last seen and he own the type of gun used and now he is a suspect. Just as easy a black woman age 55, seen leaving the bar with the victim and drive the same car that was seen and own the type of gun used would also suspect.

Jus so you know, the PLO was founded in 1964 before Israel captured the West Bank and Gaza. In the mind of Israelis (and many others), the conflict is not just a political disagreement about land: radical Palestinians (and other extremists) do not believe Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish state, and hence all of Israel is "occupied territory".
As proof in point: Israel withdrew from Gaza entirely, and the Hamas government continued attacks on Israeli towns and civilian targets.
None of that justifies racial profiling, though.

Do you know something we don't? The anthrax mailings in the fall of 2001 have not been solved yet, so it is a bit premature to definitively state that the perpetrator is a white male between 17 and 40.
