It appears the Last Trumpet guy may have once again out-done himself.

quote:
In this world of electronic enslavement, Satan and his pulsating brain, also known as the world-wide web, control almost everyone with a set of three nine-digit numbers, or 999. The bank routing numbers for checking accounts are always nine digits. The full zip code now has nine digits. The social security number also has nine digits. How many transactions require these three nines? We must also remember that in the world of the occult, words are often spelled backwards, and numbers are inverted or written upside down when possible. This is believed to amplify the power of the word or number. The word murder is written red-rum, which is its mirror image. . . . Thus, the number of the beast, or 666, is inverted and becomes 999, and almost every American is ruled by these three, above mentioned, nine-digit numbers.

Wouldn't three nine-digit numbers be 27?

Red rum is not the mirror image of the word murder. And wasn't it recently discovered that 616 is in fact the number of the beast?

But that wouldn't work with the theory, because the inverse of 616 is 9L9, and that's not a number.

So obviously, 616 can't be the number of the beast, can it?

And he makes a noise like... a goat! Everybody knows that goats are Satanic! Get thee behind me, Prince of Lies!

I started out sceptical of this guy's arguments, but reluctantly I had to accept them when I got to this part:

The reality of all of this is right before our very eyes, and no thinking person can deny it.
Now I can only admire his courage in facing the pulsating brain of Satan and turning it against itself to spread his message of good.

Wasn't this a big part of the premise of the movie End of Days? I think if you're going to base your occult theories on a movie, you ought to pick a better one than that. To his credit, he threw in a reference to The Shining... but the 999 thing is pure End of Days.

Maybe it's half of a postal code. Meaning, of course, that Satan is Canadian.

Would go well with the evilness of nine-digit zip codes. It's not just the USPS, it's mail service everywhere ...

So, in Australia, the phone numbers are 8 digits or 10 digits, the post codes are 4 digits, and they don't have SSNs. Does that mean they're safe from Satan's evil clutches?

Australia does have the equivalent of SSN, know as the TFN, tax file number. And, "GASP, HORROR, OH NO", mine is 9 digits long.

The number on my passport (possibly the closest thing we have to a SSN) is 10 digits long, postcodes in Germany have 5 digits, and my checking account number has also 10 digits.

Following the OP, you get 10510. If you devide this number by the 10.520520... percent of Germans who at any given time listen to heavy metal music, you get: 999 !!!

Isn't it a little known fact that 112 will work as an emergency number in the UK? European standardisation and all that....
