Back when Star Trek: Deep Space Nine aired in France (on cable and satellite only. The french terrestrial channels are notorious for their treatment of that franchise), the programme guide I buy every week mentioned a few times that Nana Visitor had been a dancer at the famous Paris strip club the Crazy Horse. However, nothing about it is to be found on her biography, which you can find on her official website.

Now, did the journalist made it up, or did he think that she was a member of the cast because of her curious stage name (the Crazy Horse is notorious for the strange names of its dancers, such as Lova Moor, for example)? Or was it true, and is that a part of her past the actress prefers to keep under the bushel?

Doesn't seem likely, although Nana Visitor was an accomplished singer and dancer prior to her more well known televisions role.

Nana Visitor was born Nana Tucker in New York in 1957 and was doing Broadway plays as early as the mid 70s. She toured the country and Eurpe with Angela Lansbury in the stage revival of Gypsy

She moved to LA in 1985 and appeared in American produced televisions shows on and off throughout the next two decades until she gained fame on DS9. There really isn't any logical timeframe where she could of moved to Paris long enough for such a side job.

I mean I guess its not impossible, but it does seem unlikely. Trekkers are hard core, if a Star Trek actress had done any kind of adult performance the fansites would be all over it. None of the major sites such as Memory Alpha make mention of it.

This French language DS9 fansite here does mention it however.

The boobs are an unfortunate side-effect of Braga's fetishes (he's got a thing for emotionless models in form-lifting catsuits). She looks pretty good with decent hair and a more flattering outfit. Try the In A Mirror, Darkly episodes.

And while it's a bit inappropriate to ogle the deceased, I always liked Cutler (center) :

No, "The Cage" was the original pilot, starring Jeffrey Hunter as Captain Christopher Pike. Kirk wasn't around until the second pilot.

The episode footage was incorporated rather cleverly into a two-part episode entitled "The Menagerie". Kirk, Spock, an injured Chris Pike, and Commodore Mendez are watching the events of the past on a view screen. There was a woman named Vina who Pike saw many different ways, including as an Orion slave girl. A still from her dance was used in the closing credits, and that's the pic that was posted.

(Should I reveal the level of my Star Trek geekiness by admitting that I only had to look up one fact in my last two posts?)

Stage name, at least the second part. Her real name is Nana Tucker. Which is about as bad...

Incidentally, her second son has the unfortunate name Django El Tahir El Siddig [lol] (though the last name is due to his father, the actor who played Dr Bashir)

I thought there was an episode where Kirk got freaky with a green girl (other than "The Gods" where she flirted with him). Maybe I'm just confusing the two, but I thought I remembered it.

Star Trek is a haven for terrible names. DeFoerst Kelly. Brent Spiner. Michael Dorn. Gates McFadden. Colm Meaney. Rene Auberjonois. Cirroc Lofton. Nana Visitor.

In fact, it's a personal theory of mine that the reason that Voyager and Enterprise are the black sheep of the family is that their casts had normal names. Jolene Blalock and maybe Connor Trinneer excepted.
