Comment: A couple of years ago I heard a report (& I think it was on a local TV news show) that a pet store put some pet ferrets in a display case with some pet prairie dogs, not knowing the predator/prey relationship the two spiecies have in nature. The results was not good for the prairie dogs. I searched your site for this but did not find it. Do you have any information about this event or a report of it?

Prairie dogs are kept as pets now? How does that work?

People do keep prairie dogs as pets. In fact that was considered to be one of the causes of the spread of monkey pox in the U.S. a few years ago.
