Within the following weeks, my posting here will be quite certainly be more sparse, and will cease for a period during early September.
I am having to face surgery, a nephrectomy, due to having discovered a tumour in my right kidney. In principle, surgery must completely solve the problem, but I will need probably about 10 days for pre- and post-surgery hospital care, and after that will probably be ordered to "rest" a lot at home.
So, fear not... we are going to overcome this one, too!

I wish you the best Luis! I love your attitude, you kick its a$$!
Not to hijack but I will also add to this that I myself will be absent more as well. I accepted a job from 4pm-12am and am looking into a few daytime possibilities. I have a teaching "trial" tomorrow morning so we will see. No word on the "dream" one, he has one more interview so it's not looking too good for me. Anyways take care snopesters & snopelings!

I am going to leave an envelope to my daughter, with instruction on how to get here if something goes horribly wrong. She will kept you informed in such case.
Or she won't, because it won't happen, he, he.

You and I may have had harsh words for each other, but I honestly do wish you all the best in your upcoming surgery and recovery. The only harm I have in my power to do to you is by my words...and the same is true for the power to do good. If I have made war upon your words, at least I pray you know that I would not wish any harm to your body.
Although a materialist, I do subscribe to a form of the "mind-body duality" philosophy. As Thomas More, when about to be beheaded, asked the axeman to stay until he had pushed his beard out of the way of the deadly stroke, as it, at least, had committed no treason, so, although you and I have argued with some heat, at least your kidneys have never given me any offense.
Get well, stay well, be well.
Silas
