I checked and it is still Minstrel that we send the pics to, for now at least.

The fish are enjoying their stay so far, although between the weather and trying to coordinate schedules we haven't been able to get them out on the town so far. We're hoping to do that tomorrow and Thursday so I can get them sent out on Friday.

Alrighty, the fish were placed in the mail to McLloyd this evening. My photographer got a bit carried away so I will need to sort through pictures and I'll try to get those posted in the next few days.

*peers around thread* Anyone home?

Thwacky and Whacky arrived safely in Cheyenne and were pretty excited because they'd heard about Wyoming (even if AnglRdr hasn't [Wink] ) and were hoping they would be seeing Yellowstone. Noemi had to explain to them that they were in the wrong corner of the state for that. Then they asked about Frontier Days and she had to explain that they were in the right area, but two weeks too early. The fish consoled themselves by trying on jewelry while Noemi was trying to put tags on it. Then they decided to try to strike a blow for fishy justice and subdue a cat. As you can see they weren't very sucessful, as Cleo seems pretty unconcerned about the whole thing. At that point Noemi moved Thwacky and Whacky to a safer location before they tried to subdue Scooter and got chewed on.

The weather finally cleared up and so Noemi took the fish to see one of the giant cowboy boots that were part of a community art project. The fish were really lucky because this boot is owned by the state agency Noemi's husband works for so he could get them in behind the ropes for a close up view.

Noemi then took them to see where Frontier Days would be taking place in two weeks and wandered around the park across the street. There they stopped to look at locomotive 1242 which had been nicknamed Old Sadie. The fish were really interested in the
interior fence. Noemi explained it had been made from old metal objects by a local man who had made a similar fence for his house.

With that the fish were ready to move on and headed off to California to visit McLloyd.

Noemi, sounds like you and the fish had a lot of fun. I can't wait to hear back from MacLloyd.

That reminds me, anyone mind if the fish get sent back to me for the snopes meet? Then we can send him to FrogFeathers for her visit with Shawn, then it's off to the UK!

The fish arrived here today, both seem none the worse for the trip from Wyoming to LA. I am really busy this week as I am in a community theater production and performances are this week, but I will try to get the fishies out and about and document their adventure ASAP.

Lizzie - let me know where to send the fishies next. Scout is waiting for them, but I will send them where ever you tell me.

^^Me

My Gawd, I just read the blog, and I realised that my photos have not made it into it. My e-mail might have been rejected to size considerations. I don't know.

So here is what I put in the e-mail and the appropriate photo descriptions.

quote:
Hello all. The fishes had a great time here in New Brunswick. They arrived a little "hungover" from Newfoundland, but were ready for the enjoyment of the heart of this province.

Unfortunately, the day after they arrived, some bad news came to my family so their party, erm visit, was put on hold for about four days.

But that timed it nicely with the spring break we had here with my daughters. What a visit it was.

We started the morning off by picking up my daughters' friend Ally. Immediately the two wanted to split a Tim's coffee.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/UE_Loyalist/Fishes/1-MorningCoffee.jpg

Once the caffeine kicked in, it was downtown to get some New Brunswick culture. The Beaverbrook Art Gallery was the venue. We first checked out the exterior, then inside we went.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/UE_Loyalist/Fishes/2-WiththeGangChekingouttheArtnophot.jpg

No photos were allowed inside, so we went around and checked out the artworks. Much was impressive, especially the works of Anthony Flowers. But the fish seemed a bit bored, not to mention the three girls that were escorting them.

So, after a bit of culture, the fish wanted to see power. We went across the street to the legislature. Thwacky was in awe of the edifice where some of the most important decisions for the province are made.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/UE_Loyalist/Fishes/3-FrontStepsofNBLegislature.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/UE_Loyalist/Fishes/4-Cantseeembuttheyarethere.jpg

So, it was a bit chilly, so my daughters Shawn and Addy, suggested that we take Ally and the fish to the museum on the base near Fredericton. It was a great suggestion. Thwacky was impressed by the amount of care given to the artefacts, while Whacky seemed quite content to be carried around by three blondes.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/UE_Loyalist/Fishes/6-InsidetheArmyMuseumlookingforsome.jpg

The girls were quite excited by the afternoon. We were all going to the gym. Me to work on maintaining this epitome of manly physique [Wink] and the girls to paractice the routines from their cheerleading club.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/UE_Loyalist/Fishes/9-Withthesquad.jpg

Finally, the day was done. Ally went home and my daughters were tired. Thwacky and Whacky were anxious to get on their way to Edmonton to see Jenn so we went to my workplace. I showed the pictures of our day around to my colleagues, but unfortunately, I forgot to tell the fish to sit still. They collaborated with my office mate and decided to run off with my hat. I caught them about 30 minutes later.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v222/UE_Loyalist/Fishes/10-Colleagueshavingfunatmyexpensewi.jpg

With that, we went home. The next day they caught their bubblewrapped taxi to Edmonton.

Thanks for letting them visit. I quite enjoyed their presence and it was fun planning a day, not only for my family, but for the fish as well.

Okay fine, I will pass the word on to Scout.

I will try to get the fish on their way by the end of the week. I have to borrow a digital camera as my turns out to be on the fritz. I took the fish to Galco's Soda Pop Shop yesterday (a small italian grocery store loaded with soft drinks from all over the country and around the world) but I was unable to document it. Dang.

Anyway, I will be taking the fish to the dress rehearsal of Bye Bye Birdie this evening so they should enjoy themselves.

I wonder if you can sneak the fish onstage at some point. Maybe have Conrad pose with them? Or have the girls swooning over the fish instead of him. [lol]

Sorry, I did the show once too. Congrats on your role!

I can't wait to see the fish again. They'll be off to the UK after the meet. chillas and/or I will make sure they get off on their trans-atlantic trip safely.

Well, the play is over and the fish have been sent off to chillas.

They picked a bad time for their big break in Hollywood. I was very caught up in the play and my camera was busted. I took them to Santa Anita racetrack, Bob's Big Boy in Burbank and Grauman's Chinese theater, but the camera was busted.

They did get a walk on in the play, but they were in my coat pocket, so the talent scouts didn't get to see them.

They only got a total of four pics (which I will post soon), but they did get to pose with (pre-makeup) Conrad.

Here's hoping they have fun at the meet.

I apologize, I am responsible for the fish delay. Some general life craziness and financial issues have delayed their over seas trip. They are packed and ready to go and I'm hoping to stop at the post office today or tomorrow.

Again, I apologize. This was my fault entirely. I'd offer myself up for a fish thwacking, but like I said, they're already packed up.

Because of the rocky coastal features in your pic and since you're giving your location as "UK", I was guessing Scotland. But I'll propably learn more after you showed the fish around and posted the photos!

Sorry for the continual delays, but at long last the fishies are on their way!

They were dropped at the post office yesterday, and as we speak they are winging (finning?) their way west across the Pacific Ocean, realizing they're going in the wrong direction, turning around and winging their way east across the Atlantic.

ETA: I was required to fill out a customs form. That was odd. The postal worker didn't say anything but did a bit of a dobule take upon seeing "Contents: Rubber Fish. Quantity: 2"
