Let's see ... we've been sending them periodic requests to remove the infringing material from their site for over five years now, all of which were completely ignored.
For this go-round, I was unable to find a single page on their site that had an e-mail address of any kind, so I sent a standard DMCA notice to their ISP. Boo-hoo.

They may have thought that the user that submitted it was the one who had written it. In that case, the submission might have removed the copyright protections (especially if the site had a "all submitted items become the property of the webmaster" notice). But if they meant that a user sent them the link, then it wouldn't nullify copyright protections.
PS. I'm surprised they didn't throw out the classic, "we're not making any money" defense.
