Comment: People may say I have some anti-catholic agenda in what I write
on Bishop Fulton Sheen, but this not the case. I write of the realities of
Fulton Sheen. I have studied his past, and I find it embarrassing to say
he is some type of guiding light on the Catholic Church. While no doubt he
was a charismatic figure, he was also a demagogue. He has more in common
with David Corish than the church I now belong to. Both had an
encyclopaedic knowledge of scripture, which they used to befuddle the
ordinary person.

His legacy to the Catholic Church in the US is plain for all to see, i.e.
it's on its last legs. It was this dogmatic doctrine, and lies and deceit,
which brought this about. On his great friend Hoover, its now acknowledged
he was a mobster, and pervert. The information he presented on communism
was garbage. His knowledge of the Cold War was nil. The cold war was the
result of the failure of the zones of influence proposed by Roosevelt, in
his meetings with Stalin. Stalin sought only one thing in return and that
was to be able to control Polish Foreign Policy. Roosevelt's death and the
failures of US foreign policy ensured the collapse of the agreements. He
writes of China as being a land of the free previous to the Communist
Revolution. There is not much different in the plight of the Chinese in
the Nationalist Dictatorship and that of the Communist Dictatorship only a
few million more died. Was the Church under Nationalist dictatorship
anything to be proud of?

I believe Sheen belonged to McCarthy-Hoover conspiracy to subvert the
civil rights of other. His access to the private records of private people
shows his arrogance. He represents something nasty to me, a nastiness that
my church The Roman Catholic Church had and to lesser degree now holds. I
am an Irish Roman Catholic and regular churchgoer. For those who do not
believe I am Irish check my email address, which is only available in
Ireland.

If you want a renewal look at the new church in Ireland, which like the US
was riddled with lies and sex abuse of kids and to a new church with
leaders such as Bishop Willie Walsh, Fr Brian Darcy, Fr Hegarty, and
Bishop John Buckley. A Church with care, compassion and less dogma. Move
on from Fulton he is the same pedigree as the Rev Coughlin, another
weirdo.

Comment: I agree with the Principal Jody Mc Loud from Roane County High
School in Kingston Tennessee.
We Americans need to remember that this is the land of the FREE AND THE
BRAVE.
We do have the FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
Which includes the FREEDOM TO PRAY.
Why is it that the people that are offended by prayer or the display of
the commandments in a state or federal building are aloud to change the
beliefs on what this country was formed?
I believe that if they do not want to pray or read the comandments that is
their choice and they should not partake in the prayer or read the
commandment.
They SHOULD NOT ruin it for the rest of the United States of America who
do believe in God.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!!

IN JESUS' NAME.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment: This comment is regarding the new Pepsi Cola design that includes
the Pledge of Alliegance. It is to my understanding that the words "Under
God" are not included in the Pledge of Alliegance as to not "offend"
anyone who does not believe in God. Someone made a comment that
"Christians should take a stand" and stand up to this. Well, Christians
are not the only ones that believe in God. This is not ONLY a Christian
issue. There are many "God fearing" religions besides JUST Christianity.
We live in a country where there are many religions and beliefs that
center around God or a Higher Power. So, I do not feel that including the
phrase "Under God" is offensive. I also think that if the people of the
Christian faiths feel offended by these kinds of issues, they should be
more open minded and realize that they are not the only ones who believe
in a Higher Power and that the other Non-Christian religions could also be
offended as well by not allowing "God" to be mentioned. "God" is universal
for many religions. There are many religions who would be supportive of
this issue along side with Christians. Beisides, if this was intended as
to not "offend" those who do not believe in God, why would those
"non-believers" care in the first place? Are their opinions that
important?? Enough to deny people from the Universal God?

Comment: I am a permanantly disabled Vietnam combat veteran. I, as well as
many others, feel that MS. Sheehan is accomplishing one thing only, and
that is to aide in the demoralization of the troops in Iraq. The American
people did the same to us while we were over in Vietnam. Does the public
think we don't hear about the descension back at home?? Do they not
realize the permanant an irrepairable damage that they are doing to these
young men and women, who for the most part, joined the military out of
their love and Patriotism for their country?? If the American public
really gives a damn about veterans, and more specifically, disabled combat
veterans, they need to step up to the plate and make sure, through their
elected representatives, that these vets are getting adaquate financial
assistance, medical & psychological care, smooth transitioning back to
civilian life and so much more. Regardless of what anyone tells the
public, this is not happening. We yell about how many war dead there are
so far, but many facts and information are not being disseminated to the
people. There are approx 600 to 700 thousand troops who have fought and
have returned home with some degree of injuries or disabilities. What are
we doing for them?? Even people who are in the Veterans Administration
have made comments that are very disturbing, to say the least. One V.A.
doctor commented that the people of this country have a tendency to treat
our combat vets one notch lower than the rest of society. There was never
a more true statement. We claim our support for the troops, wave flags,
march in support and the like, but on their return home, we forget all
about them or just don't plain care anymore. That's sad!! I went to war
for my country. Right or wrong, I came home disabled for life, but I'm not
complaining about my sacrifices. I would do it again if I could, because
"Patriotism" means something to me. It is a fact, "Freedom is not free".
Now it is your (the American public's) turn to truly take care of these
returning combat vets. Stand up for more enhanced benefits, financial and
medical support and the like for all our returning warriors. Don't do to
these young men and women what you did to us. We did not deserve it and
neither do they!! Cindy Sheehan. To you I would say you need to get a
life. Regardless of whether you agree with the war ot not, you are very
seriously demeaning your son's sacrifice for his country and that of every
other dead and wounded veteran returning home. How sad that you need to
down your own child's sacrifice for his country. You come across as a very
bitter, very lonely and very unhappy person in life. You are part of this
nations' turmoil. If all the protestors, both for and against the war, got
together and really started applying pressure on the administration for
better benefits for veterans, we would have the higher quality of life
that we deserve. Instead, many of us return home, isolate and withdraw
from society, human contact and relationships and all the meaningful
things in life, even after all the sacrifices we made on the field of
battle. There is no greater degree of disrespect to the defenders of this
"FREE" nation that to demean, degrade and just plain abandon returning
combat and disabled vets.
Just wanted to say my peace!

Comment: Normally I don't have a comment one way or the other but I read
the one quote from Barbara Bush where she was criticised for saying that
they were better off. I guess this hits close to home because everyone I
know in my daily life has sacrificed for the people from New Orleans and
most know people from Mississippi who suffered the same tragedy but were
not bused off for help anywhere. I know this was not intended to criticise
the city but if you saw the car after car that drove up dropping off
supplies and the good restaurants who drove up with tray after tray of
food. People who have family members who died in Mississippi are bitter
that the same attention was not given to those there, it is like only
those in New Orleans were hit. A former co-worker of mine had to wait 2
months before her brothers body was found in Mississippi. She also lost
her uncle there. I personally spent $100.00 of my own money which is a big
sacrifice for my single income to try to help families get started in new
apartments that they were supplied at no charge - giving up my precious
only day off to help them. All things considered those people were the
luckiest group of those who did not have private homes to stay in because
they had handouts like crazy. Houston was full of open arms and very
giving and generous. I was personally involved in watching apartments
being fully furnished the very day people were leaving the astrodome and
coming to pick clothing from donations and being handed a place to live
until their homes can be replaced. I know people who have lived with
family members every since because they have nothing but whether it is a
private home or the astrodome it beats the people who I know that stayed
there and are struggling to make it alone. I don't think she was trying
to say they were better off than if there had not been a tragedy but that
they were better off in a giving city after the tragedy rather than being
alone. My insurance agent was flooded with phone calls from people who
were looking for assistance with their hotel bills and the people staying
in the Astrodome were obviously people who could not afford hotels. The
teacher of my niece had 16 adults sleeping in her living room because they
were friends and everyone that I know who had a friend or relative from
N.O. had/has people sleeping in every free bed/couch/etc. But if you don't
know anyone in Houston what other choice is there??
I totally get what she was saying but I guess that is because I was living
and breathing the same experience.

The problem with the Canadian Legislature's plan to ban taking of profits
for films like this is that buried in the fine print is a clause that
takes away a victim or family of a victim's right to sue for compensation.
Instead the monies will be taken and put into an "account" where "deserved
individuals" (read greedy poli-pork-ticians) can get payouts from.
Just another money grab by the corrupt government of Canada, using
emotion and rhetoric to bamboozle the public! (this from a former
Canadian)

email and whoever was stupid enough to create and/or start it. Let me just
say that as a mother, I DO NOT find this email amusing. Obviously, whoever
started this is not a parent because no parent in their right mind would
ever joke about a child missing. It is stunts like this that will create
doubt in future amber alerts and missing children cases. I'm sure there
are plenty of other people out there who will join me in anger. Let
someone they love go missing and then we'll see how funny it is!

Comment: I received a terrible message of a parent searching for a
child... a tradegy indeed, I then forwarded it three trusted friends, who
in turn forwarded it to several friends, etc., etc., etc.

I don't mind ANY search for a lost child anywhere but all of us who
forwarded this plea for information which we all thought was being
collected and forwarded to authorities in search of this child or to this
child's parents has initiated a barrage of other mail which is clogging up
OUR personal mail boxes.

This is just not right.

Most of us are on Do Not Call lists for our phone, etc. and, I would hate
to think that I would have to permanently block any of my friends simply
because they aren't aware of an honest mistake they made via internet.

Your prompt attention to this matter will be greatly appreciated and I
will pass it along to my friends as well.

Now that is bad if you can't even spell the F word correctly.

Ever notice how we always fall in love? We never climb gently in to love, or step lightly in to love. If love is such a good thing than why is it described as a fall.

I personally wouldn't mind playing "fiddle" with Jennifer Aniston, even if it is second.
