Since there seems to be reorganization of the sections and cateogories going on (which is freaking me out, btw), it occurred to me that it might be nice to have a separate one for threads about upcoming Snopester meets. Currently those types of threads get put in some other category, mostly slc, but those are so active that the meet threads invariably get shoved off the page after a day or so. This becomes even more of a problem when you remember that these meets tend to be planned a long time in advance, meaning the threads end up fighting for their lives in very active categories for a long time. This makes them hard to find, hard to keep track of, and hard for people to notice. Just today there was a post in the Toronto Meet thread by a guy who said he wants to come, but had only just found the thread for the first time today, even though it has existed for several months now. Not surprising, though, since in the time that thread has been there, several hundred new topics have started in slc. A separate section would solve this.

I don't think that it occurred to anyone that the Announcements forum was for anyone but you to post in.

I was under the impression all this time that you were the only one who could start threads in the Announcements forum, snopes.
So...can you move the threads in question over there? Pretty please?

I've moved Toronto, Washington state, and North Carolina. Are there any others?

Moving them to Announcements will certainly solve the problem. Thanks.

I thought the DC people were trying to get one put together, but the planning got stalled / thread got lost. Another reason to put these threads where they can be found.
Not that it's likely I'll be going to a meet any time soon.

Wonder how I missed that one? I searched on "meet" in SLC.
Ah well. It's moved now.
