Poor kid, [Frown] my sister showed me the clip and she thought it was hysterical and I really didn't. I didn't think it was funny, cause I related to the poor kid.

There were many times were I was caught pretending to be Madonna or Chrissie Hynde or Debbie Harry, or even worse Liza [Embarrassed] ! Luckly this technology didn't exsist when I was growing up, I'm sure those who caught me in my preformace mode would have had a feild day broadcasting my preformaces over the internet had this technology been around when I was younger.

Well, I watched it too (and several variations of it) I had a reflex Laugh but I do think it's sad he got humiliated.

Worst I think is, if the report on the globe and mail is true. The kids broke into locker to get the video wich is bad engouh but they apparently tried to get his Gift.

quote:
In the excerpts from Internet chats filed in court, the four appear to be plotting ways to get the gifts sent to another address so they can keep the iPod for themselves
I can relate to what he did, I often act out ideas I get (mostly medival stuff). But I make extra sure there are no withneses.

Since there still a video of my University initiation (slave auction & servitude) out there.

Who doesn't act out in behavior occasionally that might be embarassing if it got out? Who among us has not played drums on the steering wheel, or done much, much worse? My heart goes out to this kid, and I sincerely do hope that the four culprits (who are obviously without remorse for their callousness) get what's coming to them. So far all they seem to have gotten is publicity for how big and bad they are.

Okay. On one hand, he shouldn't have video taped himself doing something embarasing. It's like video taping yourself breaking a law or having sex. Someone is bound to find it.

One the other hand, how crule of them to post it on the internet. And what's worse is they encourage others to make fun of him and others did. That's just mean. Those are 4 horrible boys and I hope each parent is embarased those kids belong to them. I know I would be. I hope Ghyslain Raza's parents get every dime of the law suit.

I'm tend to forget people can be this evil. It makes me sad to think about what he's going though. No one should have to be teased to that extent.

We've all done things like that. But most of us haven't been video taped doing them. I thought the Star Wars version of it was cute and funny, but in a that's something I would do kind of way. It's too bad those boys don't have to go though the same thing they put him though.

I give props to this kid. He's not trained, he's not slim, but he's giving it what-for anyway. If he took some martial arts classes or something, I bet he could kick some asses, most notably those who put this out there for all to see.

It's a shame that people think the kid is a buffoon, because for his lack of expertise, he moves pretty quick and could probably be good with training and practice.

This was one of the most amusing things I've seen. What is so cool about it is people have edited the original and have made movie trailers of it. There is a Matrix Reloaded version as well as a T-3 Rise of the Machines, not to mention 2 actual Star Wars parodies(Dork Clones and Remix), complete with sound effects and light saber sound. I found them on Kazaa, but you can also google them i guess. Thank you, and as always.........May The Force Be With You!

I totally agree with what you're saying here. Although it is hypocritical of me to do so due to the fact that I downloaded those vids and laughed my butt off.

Not to be too hung up on semantics, but I don't like using the term "evil" to describe the kids who did this. I just feel it is too strong. That's all.

Just out of curiousity, did you read the article? The poor kid was chasitized on daily basis (or at least, that's what the article implies). Being teased and made a fool of would not make you happy. What if your class mates found a tape of you doing something embarassing?
Poor guy.

Ok...let's look at this from all viewpoints...

First of all, I do agree with the general concensus that the four boys that posted it were in the wrong, but were being just that...boys. Kids make fun of other kids. Not to say that it is right in any way, but it's part of growing up. It happens to all of us, granted this kid just happened to get more than the average dose.

Next, if any of you can codemn those four boys for what they did and NOT be living in a glass house with a handfull of rocks; then kudos to you. I've been on both sides of this coin. In elementary and junior high, I was made fun of because I wore glasses and a retainer. In high school, I spent my entire sophomore year being called Queer and Fag as I walked the halls. (I am VERY heterosexual, my step mother and I just didn't see eye to eye all of the time so she decided to start a little rumor to get even...)

Finally, after my Junior Year, all of the endurance paid off. Things turned around and by the end of my senoior year, I was voted best all around. So, there is a silver lining to this kid's cloud. All he'll have to do is hang in there, with the attention he's gotten so far, he'll practically be famous.
But as far as the other four go...they're just being kids. I don't think it should have gotten blown this far out of proportion. [Eek!]

Yes one kid being made fun of by others is not unusual but it's not usually done on a worldwide basis as in this case. This is not just "boys being boys" ( as if that is an aceptable exscuse).
These four took it to a deliberately high level of cruelty.
Take the pain and embarrassment you felt in Junior High and magnify it infinitely to get a sense of how this poor kid must feel. Yes this will pass in time for all of us but not for that kid.

Ok smoke...you're right.
This was extreme. I didn't deny that fact in my initial post. However, if the kid had something that potentially devastating, why in the world did he leave it at school??? I mean, he had to have known the other kids at school were aware of his doing this, and that if they found it he would be in for some very public humiliation. So, why leave it in the school for them to find???

That kid can really bust a move. But I do feel terrible for him. I have a camcorder so I've taped myself dancing and running around in a bathrobe and black lipstick through a lot of snow, and before I had an audition for a musical, I taped myself singing, and I know I wouldn't want anybody to see that ever! Life goes on. I was the butt of a few jokes at school, and I was involved in some pranking against some kids that got more then their fair share, hey teenage boys are dickheads, no two ways about it. But these 4 will get what’s coming to them. Where are the major bullies from your old schools now? I can tell you where mine are

1) In jail

2) Junked up beyond recognition.

3) Dead.

It's unfortunate that this kid has to be mocked but it happens all the time, he should take some solace out of the fact he'll get more out of life then the other 4. Bullies always get the short end of the stick when you have to rely on more than name-calling. I don't fell sorry for Star Wars kid I find him funny. I fell sorry for the losers who pick on him cause they never seem to change, and as a result end up with the real problems.

I can honestly say that I never picked on anybody in school.

Oh, I publicly insulted a few people who had picked on ME, and I once used a moment of leverage to send the football team's kicker sprawling across the lunchroom floor, but he WAS trying to cut in line in front of me, and the lunchroom monitor (AKA the coach) wasn't about to do anything about it.

But pick on somebody? Nope.

That said, I wield a MEAN imaginary sword.

I have to side with the kid; he got caught on camera acting out something he loved, and now, they're making it into some kind of joke. "Oooh, look! Some fat kid thinks he's Darth Maul- point and laugh!". To all the people who think this kid's imitation of something he loved is a joke, I tell them to point their thumb up in the air, just to prove to me it's not up their butt.

This kid's twice the Jedi Hayden Christenson(or whatever his name is!) was in "Episode II"... at least he did more than sit around and try looking as pretty as possible.

I got to admit that I used to do this myself, although not with Jedis. I did it with those old "middle earth" style fantasy worlds.

It's unfortunate... The original unaltered video doesnt look THAT bad, nothing we havent all done ourselves with other characters... But some of those re-mixes are just plain cruel... Funny... But cruel.

I still have to wonder though, what this kid's psychological state was BEFORE this happened. He must have had lousy self-esteem.

Personally, I think the young man did a pretty good job, considering the "props" he had available. I got the link in an email from someone who found it funny, but I failed to see the humor; as I said, I thought it was pretty good, all things considered.

People who would find humor in something as simple as a kid playing around in such a harmless way are the ones who need psychiatric help, as far as I'm concerned.

As for the folks who made fun of the boy because of this, I think they need to make sure that they have never done anything embarrassing in their lives.

Just my opinion (not that it matters)

The people who are making fun of this kid are the reason America's Funniest Home Videos was on the air for more than one day.

Some people making the most fun of this kid are computer geeks, who are known for their obession with Star Wars and RenFaires. It makes no sense to me whatsoever, as some of the people making fun of him are the ones who have the costumes and do this with their friends. I watched the original video, and the kid can move. I didn't watch any of the altered videos, as, well, way too like having Bob Saget do commentary.

I'll bet that there are more people who think this kid is great and feel a kinship with him than people who think he's just a dork to laugh at. Personally I laughed at it, but not because I l was thinking, "Look at this moron!" I was thinking, "Hey not bad and he's having fun! Good for him!" Ain't nothing wrong with playin' jedi. Remember school is the place where you get picked on for wearing the wrong brand name, or having the wrong ear pierced, etc. etc.

I have to admit I found it funny, but if I ever met the guy it'd be "Hey it's the Star Wars kid, you rule!" rather than anything cruel. You can be laughing with someone.
