It seems a father's plan to cure his daughter's fear of heights fell short.

I'm impressed by the girl. I'm afraid of heights and I wouldn't have jumped that far no matter how my dad tried to convince me.

I'm just glad it's his leg that's broken and not his daughter's, since jumping was his stupid idea.

Time for a new version of the old rhetorical mom-question: "If Daddy jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?" [Roll Eyes]

And how old do you have to be before the law says that you jumped "willingly"? 10 years old seems awfully young to me.

To be fair, 15 feet is not that high to jump into a body of water that has sufficient depth. A think a "high dive" at a swimming pool is about that height if not more. That said, a bridge is not a diving board and a river is not a pool- I guess he broke his leg when he hit a rock or the river floor or something. OK, he's a moron and arguably endangered his child even if he did not "intend" to harm her. Negligent to the degree of being criminal.

This girl now has the best come back for her Dad ever.
"Honey, you're home after curfew and I was worried."
"Dad, you made me jump off a bridge and now you're worried?"

He will never live this down. But, I wonder, is she still afraid of heights or has this just confirmed them?

Fortunately, Meaghan sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders. She sounded more adult than her dolt of a father.
