I came up with something to help prevent people from Blackberry-related thumb injuries but have zero idea what to do with it.
I'm not sure it's something I could make myself and am sure the idea would be stolen and patented within a short period of time. I also don't have any extra money to spend trying to get it patented. In short, I have no idea what to do!
Does anyone have any suggestions?

My first suggestion would be to patent the idea (or try and find out if someone else has already done so). Then you could try and sell the product to companies who make the devices.

Patent is probably the only way to go. It's not as expensive now as it once was. In Sweden, the cost is about $120 to get a 'Patent Pending' which blocks others from patenting similar ideas, and an additional $240 when it's time to make it a full patent. This cost registers the patent in 130 countries.
