Because summer trumps all seasons in this part of the world, it is no surprise that hot weather has spawned legion myths and beliefs. Some are born of coincidence. Others are based in homespun wisdom. Some are believed simply because someone said so — with authority.
Some of the "facts" seem a bit fishy to me. Wasn't the eight glasses of water (nine for women, apparently) thing debunked? Also, while the heat exchange of cold liquids may help cool you down faster, does the temperature really make any difference in absorption rate?
