Thousands are abducted for profit each year. Some are sold and later adopted overseas, while others are forced into prostitution or begging.

That's such a terrible story [Frown] . I guess I'm glad I don't live in China.

We adopted our daughter from China 2 years ago. Stories like this are so scary. It's important to understand that the orphanages are already full to bursting with girls who were abandoned by their families. So why would there be a black market for babies? It's *not* really because they need more babies to adopt out to wealthy westerners--there's already way more children than there are prospective adoptive families.

The reason some corrupt orphanage officials buy babies to add to their already full orphanages is because the more babies they have in their orphanages, the more government money they get. It's so so so so sad.
