HOW TO SEND CARDS OR NOTES TO STRICKEN AMISH FAMILES]/CROSS POSTED
This is from a friend of a friend .... please spread it around the web! hugs Cathy
I'm sure you have all heard about the shooting of 10 young girls in the Amish school house here in Lancaster on Monday. The news went world wide and even though it was here in Lancaster county, the shock and horror here is as great as any area.
Many have asked what they can do or how they can send cards to the families. There was something in the paper tonight that I thought I would pass on, if you would like to send a card or help with medical costs. This horror touches many in this county... there is an Amish family down the street from us, and we found out today that one of the families that lost a child was good friends of theirs.....
this was the note in the paper
HOW TO SEND CARDS OR NOTES TO STRICKEN AMISH FAMILES
If you wish to express your condolences to the families of the children who were killed or wounded in Monday's tragic shooting, you may send cares or letters to:
AMISH FAMILIES C/O THE BART FIRE COMPANY BOX 72 BART, PA 17503
(Fire company officials will deliver the cards to the appropriate families)
Donations may be sent to Nickel Mines Childrens Fund c/o Coatesville Savings Bank 1082 Georgetown Road Paradise, PA 17562
or Mennonite Disaster Service 1018 Main St. Akron, PA 17501
Above all, keep these dear families and this community in your prayers....we can't even imagine the heartache these families must be dealing with. By the way, Bart Township is about an 45 minutes from us, so it's not real close but it's still a situation that touches this county.
Thanks so much for caring Marilyn

No, hadn't seen that. I can't really imagine that the Amish families involved would much welcome cards and letters from thousands of people they don't know. Of course, that's just my 2 cents.
CNN had a link to this bank for donations. That, at least, would probably be appreciated. The Amish don't do insurance.
ET provide a better link. And ETA that I edited.
