Comment: Hey,

I was just told a story about Sylvester Stalone. The story goes that he
went into his trailer on Stop or My Mom will Shoot with his assistant and
left his headset on. Supposedly, the production crew overheard him saying
"Cup the balls" over and over again.

Well, it is a funny story, but it isn't the first time I've heard it.
I've heard it about 4 times from 4 different people. Everytime I've heard
it, the quote is different but usually derives from "Cradle the balls,
work the shaft."

Have you heard about this?

Why would he be wearing a headset? He was the lead actor, not the director or a member of the crew.

This story sounds more like a joke set-up with the punch missing, where everybody realizes he was teaching someone to play golf or juggle or something like that...

Here's another version:

quote:

True story...

Sly's body mic was still on him when the sound guy turned it on by accident. Sly was in his trailer with a female PA at the time....

"Nooo! Stroke the shaft, cup the balls!"

Well it _could_ be a golf story...

Furious,

I imagine they meant microphone, and it is easy to forget you have them on. They're designed to be lightweight and hidden.

Yeardley

I'm pretty sure the standard is to use boom-mics. I only ever see personal mics used for TV.

Agreed, if a person mike appeared in a shot where the plot didnt demand it (like if the charachter was a news reporter) it would look odd. And isnt most dialogue re-done anyway due to the noise on set when studd is shot outdoors?

Maybe the assistant had the mic on?

Bummer. I thought this was going to be another "celebrities that did porn when they were younger" thread.
