Hollywood Unmasked

quote:
Before becoming a disciple of Anton LaVey, Mansfield held a strong interest in the supernatural. According to May Mann, Mansfield's best friend of 12 years, Mansfield pursued astrology, religious cults, was fascinated with Satanism and the occult, and engaged in bizarre behavior such as wandering around graveyards and cemeteries
It's a pro-Christian site that believes Hollywood and rock & roll music are leading children into Satanism. But the Jayne Mansfield angle is one I haven't heard before.

Jayne Mansfield's photo with LaVey where she takes part in "Satanic communion" was said to be a publicity stunt. Even if she was dabbling in the occult, it doesn't prove that the entertainment industry is prosletyzing young people for Satanism.

Jayne a Chow.
According to the biography of filmmaker Kenneth Anger(a self proclaimed satanist),"Anger Rising",the whole Mansfield and Church of Satan thing was a hoax. It was allegedly started by a journalist for Oui magazine as a joke. He was lampooning Anger and Levay and concocted the whole Mansfield thing. He made up the bit about Mansfield asking Levay to put a spell on her manager. Thus they were both killed in a gruesome accident. Lavey had told her, according to the "story",not to ride with him in the car.
Even Lavey allegeddly claimed the story a hoax and was so pissed at the author that he cast a spell on him.
The journalist,a skeptic, said he actually got sick but did not attribute it to the curse.

Author Paul Young also mentioned this in his book

L.A. Exposed; though revealed to be a highly du-

bious work since its publication, this is one story

in which he remained level-headed, insisting that

while JM no doubt had some affilation w/ the Chu-

rch and LaVey, could never by any stretch of the

imagination be considered a Satanist.

Maker, you don't have to manually hit carriage return. Or double space. We're not grading you here...

I think it looks nice all double-spaced and hyphenated.

Welcome to the boards, Maker.

Delighted to read that schemmy and forgive me

for trying to render my response intelligible in

addition to having taken the time to attend a ty-

ping class in high school(one of perhaps two wor-

thwhile courses)whilst yourself and, let's see...

the other 3 who found this worth harping on were

no doubt hanging around the gym fretting over who

did who in the dumpster behind Mary Jane Maguili-

cutty's trailer home. You all(schemmy,Jason, and

Bobbie )are no doubt doing a fine

job in disproving everyone's favorite demagogue

Micheal Moore's loudmouthed claim that "we Ameri-

can's are the dumbest, most obnoxious people on

the planet". Absolutely charming, really.

All that having been said, does anyone have

something to add regarding Jayne Mansfield?

Point 1:

Copping an attitude does not help your cause.

Point 2:

Your posts are not made intelligable by your - to be polite - ideosyncratic typing style.

A doublespaced post is, granted, more readable than a hundred lines of text in a single rambling paragraph, but that's like saying castor oil tastes better than a mixture of vinager, gasoline, and rabbit pellets.

The board software is not so primative as to lack word-wrap. This is not paper. You do not need a carriage return at the end of each line - you most certainly do not need 2 of such - nor to break words. The board does the formatting - which includes maintaining readability by not breaking words.

Point 3:

Being able to hit the 'enter' key or find the hyphen is not a sign of intelligence. Neither is it a sign of education.

However: An inability to use either properly is a sign of ignorance (which is not a bad thing, really, in that it can be easily corrected), at best, or, at worst, as suggested by your most recent post, WILLFUL ignorance and a bad attitude. These last are, in fact bad things. Very bad things.

My advice to you: Chill the fuck out, learn how to the software works, adjust to it, and keep your head down for a while.
