It looks very photoshopped to me - consider for example how dusty the wheels are while the orange parts appear shiny and clean.

Yeah, the gun is painted pretty haphazardly too. If you're gonna 'shop something, at least put some effort into it!

I don't know as I have never been a soldier but I don't think I would want my vehicle to stick out that much against the desert.

It's also not even in Iraq or Afghanistan. The tank in the background is an M60A3, which hasn't been used by the US (note the flag on the antenna) since the late '90s.

I would say that this picture was taken stateside, and it might be as old as 15 years, as I'm not sure of when the M1025 variant of the HMMWV was introduced, and soldiers are wearing DCUs instead of DBDUs, which indicates that it is from the early '90s or later.
