Can anyone help me? I'm currently in a discussion about the power of cooperation. There is research out there that suggests that it's often better to let a large group of people cooperate (such as in a wiki), than to let a small group of specialists handle the problem.* I would very much like to cite it, but I can't find it anywhere. I'm pretty sure I came across it here somewhere, but searches don't come up with what I'm looking for. Anybody can point me in the right direction?
* Strangely enough, the wikipedia entry for 'wiki' does not show any data on this phenomenon.

I couldn't find any research articles. But, you might get some good points from the Wikipedia FAQ

how about John Nash's works? He did lots of work on modelling human co-operation.
