Oh, see, by the time there is a winner, everyone will have forgotten this post, then you go back, and edit the post, so that it looks like you really did guess the winner. Then link to it with a nice I told you so post.

Works like a charm, unless someone quotes the entirety of your post somewhere else.

Does anyone know if the snopester who ran the contest in the past will do that again? IIRC, it was KingDavid8 or something like that? I don't watch enough of AI to be in the contest, but it was fun to read the contest part of the thread.

Just popping in to say, so far, my votes are on Paris Bennett [Smile] She could do very well to do a bit more with her image (not sex things up, just, add a little fun and glamour. A little more of the star she's going to be) but her voice is solid. I cant wait til the next time I see her [Smile]

So far, this and last season have been making up for season 3.

*wipes away tear* I love that little cowboy.

I'm getting very sick of the twins egos. I'm glad that they are no longer a part of the show. I'm wondering how far they make it though.

I am so glad the arrogant "I guess you could say I'm a ladies' man..." guy got booted. He was a jerk.

I love Paris and that 16 year old little guy with the glasses. He's awesome.

I love the little cowboy, but I don't think he'll last long. He's cute and sweet, but his voice isn't so hot. Still, I like watching him. He makes me smile. [Smile]

Oh, and I agree with Mrs. Chicopea about the twins. UGH. Ego maniacs!

I got tired of the thug twins real fast, too. (Can't stand men like that). I do have to agree that they had a point about some people getting through while others equally talented (or talentless) don't. I was thinking that the one Simmons twin sang better than Little Cowboy Garret. Neither one would have gone on to the finals, but still.

Just have to figure that Little Cowboy had the cute factor going for him.

I used to watch it pretty faithfully (season 2-4) but the judges are just getting on my nerves WAY to much.

For example:
"What's up, dawg?" - If I had a nickel for everytime Randy says that to someone at any point in the competition I could pay off my mortgage.

"You are quite possibly the worst singer in the entire world." - If I had a buck for everytime Simon says that to some poor soul who is trying not to bust into tears I could pay off your mortgage, too.

And then the fighting amongst themselves, ugh...can we just hear the people sing, PLEASE?!?

In tonights episode the twins drove me nuts. When the judges told the second one he made it and he started bitching I couldn't stay to see what he was whining about. Then at the end when one was waiting to see if the other made it, then the emotional 'reunion'. Yuck!

Didn't they get arrested or something, I know they don't broadcast live but I'm surprised they devoted so much camera time to those two.

The twins do, in fact, get in trouble with the law. It was after last night's episode, but before tonight's. I suspect the producers asked the judges to keep them around for the time being, just for the drama, with the promise that they could cut them when they narrowed it to 24. The arrests give them a perfect opportunity.

I think the producers featured them so much because they got arrested. It will be highly amusing to see what the show has to say about the situation.

I never thought the twins were all that talented to begin with, and wouldn't have picked them to get this far even if they weren't annoying. But maybe the talent pool this year wasn't quite as deep as in seasons past. And I can't really blame the producers for keeping them around. They bring the drama.

I think they do keep people around for the drama -- and I think that's why the twins weren't booted after the one lost his mind on the judges.

I'm very happy with the top 24. I was so excited to see Taylor make it through (gray haired fella). I think that they really tried to give some diversity to the group. The crooner, the bluesy guy, the rocker, etc. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

And wow Simon was humbled! haha

ETA: I never seem to be able to do the spoilers correctly.

I like American Idol, its family entertainment at its cheesiest! I am also happy with the top 24 Ms. Chicopea and was glad to see Simon apologize to the young woman he offended during her audition. This is not an urban legend: Taylor's mother used to work with my best friend. We have known for weeks that Taylor made it to the top 24. He used to have a website but it was shutdown a couple of weeks ago. Seeing as Taylor is from Birmingham, we are pulling for him.

I really like the way they changed the format this year. The auditions and hollywood parts of the show in the beginning are the best parts of it, and they've finally realized it and stretched that part out.

I hadn't heard the news, so it was a surprise to me when the twins were eliminated. I didn't dislike them the way some people seem to, but their attitudes somehow made the outcome very amusing. I think the main problem with the twins was in editing, which isn't their fault. The producers devoted too much time to them each episode, so they got a little boring. But in smaller doses they would have been fun. Volatile people are better TV than boring people.

The little bald kid with the glasses who made it into the top 24 is a dead ringer for my brother's friend in the marines (or at least what he looked like at that age). If he makes it to the final 12, this will make for a good teasing opportunity for me.

I was glad that Paris and Taylor and singing coach daughter and basketball girl and Pickler made it through.

Pretty good show tonight. I'm really loving Mandisa. So far, for the women, she's my favorite. I voted for her, Paris and Mcphee. Kelly Pickler is as cute as ever, but she was only okay for me tonight.

I can tell I'm not going to be a fan of Miss Attitude. I don't care if it's her thing, I don't like it.

Can't wait to see tomorrow night!

I loved Mandisa! And that little thang with the curly hair? Lisa?

I wanted to love Paris so much more, but felt that she gave us the "Mouseketeers" version of "Midnight Train to Geogia". She's a great singer and dancer, but I just felt that song needed to be presented with a little more heart.

And what was wrong with those judges. They were treating that Kiniki lady like she was a crone! She's only 28, for Pete's Sake.

I cast my vote. I'm all in for the sixteen-year-old, number 10 (I can't for the life of me remember her name). The only thing that bothered me was the fact that they kept mentioning her age. Yes, it is wonderful and amazing that she has such a great voice and she is only 16. But you don't have to mention that six times. It may just be because I'm bitter for "only being eighteen" but it really just rubbed me the wrong way.

Anyway, overall I thought that the girls were so-so. I liked the one who sang Christina Aguilera as well, but the only one who really made me get chills was number 10.

I was watching and picking out who I'd like to be in the Top 12 so I ended up with 6 that I liked and 6 that I wasn't (as) impressed with...listed in no particular order.

Liked:

Lisa, Katherine, Paris, Kellie, Mandisa and Ayla

Not-so-much:

Melissa, Heather, Stevie, Becky, Kinnick and Brenna (she annoyed me in Hollywood week)

PS- If anyone's interested I started a thread for the "American Idol pool "

I really liked Katharine's voice, but she looked like she was having a seizure while she sang. I got that it was just her personality during the interview afterwards and she seems like she'd be fun to hang out with, but it was kind of annoying to watch. Hopefully she reins it in a bit next week.

I didn't start voting yet, but when it comes down more, I am going to be voting for Paris Bennett. She is definitely my favorite this season. Not only can she sing very well, but she just seems so sweet and humble. She just is very likeable. I also loved Mandisa. The other two stand out girls were Lisa and Katherine, although I don't think I will be voting for them. They just seem very full of themselves, Katherine especially. There's something about her I just can't stand.

As far as the guys, I liked a few of them, (Elliot, Kevin and Taylor were all very good). But, the only one I was actually truly, truly impressed by was Chris Daughtry. He is really great. He is definitely my favorite guy, but when it comes down to it, I'm pulling for Paris all the way.

ETA: I also liked Will. I picked him out from the very first audition. While he is not as good vocally as say, Taylor or Chris, he is just sooo cute! He reminds me so much of Fred Savage.

You're not the only one. In next week's TV Guide they show a picture of him and a picture of Fred Savage. I think he's the same one that my wife said looks like Peter Brady.

Last night's third-best performance was better than anything we saw tonight.

I predict that the final four will consist of Taylor and three women.
