Fans of old-time radio may recall a short-lived Western (1952-3, to be exact) as starred Jimmy Stewart entitled The Six-Shooter, playing the lead character of Britt Ponsett, "the Texas plainsman who rode across the Western territories, leaving a trail of still-remembered legends," as the show's opening sequence had it.
Some 10 years later, Jay Ward's Rocky and Bullwinkle (and, still later, George of the Jungle) gave "Executive Producer" credit to one "Ponsonby Britt."
Did Jay Ward somehow get the idea for "Ponsonby Britt" from "Britt Ponsett"?
