Was this for real? This guy is driving around with nothing (NOTHING) on the car. He's driving a frame with the engine, transmission, exhaust, electrical, wheels, two tail lights, and two headlights.
Nothing else exists on the car. Nada. Zip. Nothing. There's no doors, no floor mats, no windows, no body parts.
Is it even legal to drive?

I imagine seatbelts and a windshield are legally necessary.

* Having been completely stripped of all parts and stolen, only the actual frame and cabin remained (he still can drive it because California state law says that in order to drive a car, it must have working headlights, which it has). Other than a complete "pimping" of his car, Jason also received a Yamaha Raptor 660 All Terrain Vehicle which was also pimped. The GAS crew put two LCD monitors and a DVD player on the ATV. Mad Mike explained, "Now you've got DVD, on your ATV." Then Xzibit added "By X to the Z."

From a quick read. You need working brakes, muffler, headlights, tail lights and signaling lights. You also need a windshield, mirrors and bumpers.

Oddly enough, even if it is street legal, the car would not be eligable for the state's vehicle retirement program. (see page 4)
quote:Vehicle Equipment Requirements: All doors are present. Hood lid is present. Dashboard is present. Windshield is present. At least one side window glass is present. Drivers seat is present. At least one bumper is present. Exhaust system is present. All side and/or quarter panels are present. At least one headlight, one taillight, and one brake light are present.
