Another one sent to my mother. I feel that it's only fair to warn you that this one's really painful. I have left it formatted as it was received. However, you have to imagine the appropriately glurgy clipart between each paragraph.
quote:LET'S SEE IF YOU READ YOUR MAIL
What would you do if every time you wanted someone they would never be there?
What would you do if for every moment you were truly happy there would be 10 moments of sadness?
What would you do if your best friend died tomorrow and you never got to tell them how you felt?
So, I just wanted to say, even if I never talk to you again in my life, you are special to me and you have made a difference in my life.
I look up to you, respect you, and truly cherish you.
Send this to all your friends, no matter how often you talk, or how close you are, and send it to the person who sent it to you.
Let old friends know you haven't forgotten them, and tell new friends you never will.
Remember, everyone needs a friend, someday you might feel like you have NO FRIENDS at all, just remember this e-mail and take comfort in knowing somebody out there cares about you and always will.
In times of trouble, In times of need, If you are feeling SAD,
You can count on me. I will give you a wink,
Until you smile,
give you a hug,
And stand by your side.
I'll be there for you till the end, I'll always and forever, be your friend!
INSTANTLY WHEN YOU RECEIVE THIS, YOU MUST SEND IT TO AT LEAST 10 FRIENDS, INCLUDING THE PERSON WHO SENT IT TO YOU!
For anyone who has waded this far through that load of ... saccharine, I applaud you. You're a better man than I, Gunga Dun.
Ta ra 'wan,

I wallowed in years of misery and despression. Thanks for reminding me of it.

Then I guess I'd be out $29. I just spotted him money for a restaurant.

I've seen this "what if X died and you didn't tell them how you felt" in several glurges now. Are glurge writers really repressed or something? I'm fairly certain most of my friends and family know how I feel about them without me having to make an explicit statement every couple of days.

More to the point, how morbid would our friends/family think we are if we were to go around all the time saying, "I want you to know I love you. You know, in case you die before this day is over." I would think some of my loved ones might start keeping a little more space between me and them if I did that.

Why was this crap titled "Let's see if you read your mail?" Is one's refusal to send it back supposed to indicate that one doesn't check one's email? And if one doesn't, will one stop receiving glurge via email? If only it were that easy!

This is what bothers me and the mister Zul. We're pretty certain that our regular behaviour and attitude toward each other pretty much negates the need to say "I love you" every day. If a person feels that they have to hear that to know it, how insecure is that?
It's like daily telling your loved ones "I'm not really sure that you love me, I need to hear it, and I'm not really sure that my actions have spoken the truth that I love you too, so I'd better say so now, in case one of us dies tonight."

I pretty much skimmed through the OT, but boy, I caught the saccahrine poetry right in my eyes. I think I need to wash them out with eye-friendly soap...
I also agree that you don't need to tell someone you love them everyday either. You know through body language. Also, if you've known someone for a long time, and you're really close, you just know it unconsciously (whether it be romantic or platonic).
