Comment: A co-worker claims that figs are fertilized by wasps, and that after fertilization, the wasp dies; therefore, the figs are crunchy because of the dead wasp exoskeleton.
I say that the crunch comes from the seeds, and that the wasp is way too tiny to make a difference in texture, but I can't find anything to support this.
